The pumpkin house

Hello everyone, in my head! my name is Matilda Dickens, I'm 9 years old and guess what! my big brother is coming home today from the camping trip so mother and father decided that will all go on a picnic! But what I'm I going to wear?! I pop open the closet open and pulled out a blue and white stripe dress with a big pretty bow on the back, then black pants with a small blue belt with a plain white shirt, I guess I should choose one out of two...mmm "Matilda!" I know that voice anywhere "I'm coming, mother!" I ran over to the door and ran back to the bed where I left my clothes. I quickly grab them in a hug and push my feet in the bed slipper then feel for the doorknob, once I got a hold of it I pull the door. I ran downstairs and hop over mother's lazy cat, name ginger he has brown and orange hair with long whiskers and he only seems to have energy when he catches rats or tries to eat venus, my pet hamster. "Here mother" "Matilda, What are you doing with those" this lady who I'm talking to is my mother, she wearing a brown dress with big pelts from the waist down and black low heel shoes with hair wrapped like a donut! "I can't decide which one to wear, so I bought it with me" " okay since we're going out near to the forest I think you'll be much more comfortable with the trousers and shirt. Will you be playing with your big brother?" " Yes of course mother!" It's been a month since I last saw my big brother, his name is James Dickens, he has black hair, gray eyes just like father and he can run really fast, like a cheetah because he's even faster than me. Mother suddenly put out a hand in front of me " Matilda, give me the dress, we don't want you to trip over it now do we?" sigh, it only happened like three times this month, "ye~s mother" Mother took the dress and fold it and does the same thing with pants- I mean, trousers and shirt then gave them back to me. "Go wash up, brush your teeth, and then get your father, it almost time to get your big brother and matilda" "Yes mother?" " don't run" I nod my head and leave the kitchen and stepping over Mr. Ginger the lazy cat and ran up the stair. What? mother said not ran, but! she never said for how long now did sh~e, haha. (Time skip) After splashing in the water and getting dressed I ran downstairs and walk past mother in the kitchen. once I was outside of the house, I dash over to the garage and burst through the door surprising father, "Holy crap!" I could see his body jump and the pipe thing in his mouth fell out but he catches it halfway then he suddenly turns to me scopes me up. haha, Oh right. It's my first time hearing those words, I wonder what it means? Maybe I should ask him or mother about it "Father?" "Yes, Matilda? " what does 'holy Crap' mean?" father suddenly stops and puts me down then goes on one knee with both hands on my shoulder. It's like he's freaking out? maybe? I wonder why? " Are you okay father?" "Father is fine Matilda as long as your mother does hear you say that word okay" Okay but why? "Isn't it just a word father?" " Yes it is...but it's a word you use when you're surprised by something weird like a flying pig, plus it's a secret word that your mother must never learn about okay?" Father look like he's seen a ghost or something, this must be his biggest secret! now I have to keep it. "Okay, father!" "That's my girl! now let's meet your mother by the car " While waiting in the car mother finally came out of the house; with a big picnic basket and my pet hamster, yes! I was wondering how to sneak him out after my father got hold of me. (Time skip.) Father park the car near the bus and after waiting forever, the bus finally arrived with a sea full of people coming out and among them was my big brother. I was the first to pull the door and jump out of the car and gave him a big hug as he swings me around and then it was mother and father turn to have him... After all, the mushy stuff, mother finally told us where we going! it turns out, that mother's side of the family has a picnic spot that's surrounded by trees, pretty flowers, and gentle Forest creatures...that's what she called the animals at least. (Time skip) "Open the basket mother!" What? it's a picnic basket full of yummy! treats so I can be excited. okay, so my big brother and father went back to the car for my hamster and the toys they pack for playtime. Mother opens the side of baskets with a popping sound " So I made a Caprese Sandwich. Chickpea Salad Sandwich.Tomato, Basil, and Artichoke Picnic Sandwich. an Egg Salad. Heirloom Tomato Sandwich.Vegetarian Club Sandwich. Romesco Cauliflower Sandwich since it's your favorite and an Avocado Summer Rolls." "Wow honey, you outdid your" father and brother came back from the car and I finally let venus out of the cage and let him eat all the bell peppers, yuck! At the same time I saw father taking off his jacket roll up his long sleeves and put up his trousers, a little bit, and sits down on the blanket and brother did the same only without a jacket and he sits right next to me "Matilda?" "yes, big brother?" "would like to play catch with the baseball and gloves, when we're done?" "can I bring venus with us?" "what, the planet?" my big brother is silly, but it okay, " no, it's my pet hamster" everyone laughs at me but it's only made me happy. "Yes, matilda you can bring him with us; but you'll have to watch him while we play and make sure you keep him or her in the cage" "yes big brother!" "Well, now that, that settles how about we finally full tummies, after all, I did slave over a fire to make it" (Time skip) After almost eaten all of Mother's picnic basket, my big brother and I finally went to play catch; he tossed me the ball and I tossed it back to him. He missed it a few times and I missed it a lot but I still got a few, so. I guess you could say I'm doing pretty well. That was until I. just. kind. of threw the ball too hard and hit the cage with my hamster Venus still inside. The hamster cage open and Venus ran out and into the woods making both me and my big brother chase after it. But, I didn't go too far though, as I picked Venus up I saw a big pumpkin; it was about my height and it wasn't just any big whole pumpkin either! it was a house maybe? it has Windows and Doors so yes it's definitely your house. I wonder who lives inside? "Matilda?!" I turn my head to where I heard my big brother's voice "I'm over here big brother!" in few seconds big brother was right next to me but he didn't say any about the house? does he already knows who lives here, " big brother his that pumpkin house your's?" "what pumpkin house?" big brother must be making fun of me again, sigh, or his eyes are not working. "It's right there and it's huge" "Matilda are you trying to prank me? because if you are it not working cause there nothing there" what does he mean nothing? Can he...not see it? this giant house of pumpkin... "Let's go, Matilda" "Big Brother there really, a house make out of pumpkin right here in front of us" "I see nothing there Matilda " the look on his face clearly shows he didn't believe me. So I took big brother by the hand draw him towards the house turn the doorknob then turn around and I saw his face look surprised "you see big brother I told you I saw it" then all the sudden something grabbed onto my clothes from behind and I grabbed onto Big Brother that's when I feel my body being pulled towards the house. I screamed at Big Brother and big brother scream for father and mother who came rushing over to us instantly. "What's happening to your sister?!" " The house trying to her take her hurry up!" "What house-" father and mother got there and the second they hold onto Big Brother and Me it seems like they can see the house as they're trying to pull us towards them the second I thought I was free it felt like something else grab hold of me and snatched me up with only my pet hamster and a piece of brother sleeves Just before the door closes with tears in my eyes I looked at everyone "Bye!" and everything when dark... I'm scared, but at least I got to say goodbye...
