I grunted as I heard my phone ringing while I was driving my car on my way to one of our great friend's houses. The phone was already placed on the phone holder in front of me so it was easy for me to tap the answer button.
"Valerie, where the hell are you? Hinahanap ka na ng birthday celebrant!" bulalas kaagad ni Piper mula sa kabilang linya.
I rolled my eyes and turned the steering wheel to the left, not taking my eyes away from the street.
"P, I'm on my way. We were just so busy earlier and hindi ko na namalayan ang time, you know why na. Just tell Clarice malapit na ako." Inipit ko ang takas na buhok sa aking tainga at tiningnan ang side mirror sa kaliwa bago nag U-turn papunta sa isang daan na maghahatid sa akin sa isang kilalang village kung saan nakatayo ang bahay ni Clarice.
