Chapter Eight

Elle’s POV

After the boys both marked me and I felt the most intense pleasure I have ever experienced in my life, I quickly marked my sweet Luca. After, I could feel our connection strengthen. I could see his whole life unfold before my eyes. Every time he would pray to the moon goddess to make me his mate. Every time he would come and sit by my bed when I was sick. I could feel all the love he had for me and I was overwhelmed. I loved him more than I ever thought possible.

I turn and look at Nick who is quick to turn his head giving me access to his neck. I lick my marking spot and sink my canines in. Again, I feel my bond with him strengthen. Except when I saw his life unfold, I didn’t expect to feel like my heart was ripped from my chest. I saw us all as kids playing together. The look he had when he would steal glances at me. But then I saw every girl he’s ever been with. Heard him tell them he loves them and would want nothing more than to make them his Luna.

He told them he wanted them to be his Luna. He wanted someone who wasn’t me. He doesn’t know what love is. If he could say it so easily to all those girls how could I ever trust him. I couldn’t. Could I? No.

“So, just how many girls did you say I love you to?” I spat with clear venom laced in my voice. I see Luca immediately tense glaring at his brother I could feel Luca’s anger and I could feel Nick’s anxiety through the bond. And I know he could feel my rage in full force. “L-let me explain, oka“ he stutters, I put a hand up silencing him, not wanting to hear an excuse and walk out of the room without saying another word.

I could feel the tears threatening to fall. I could hear Clara whimpering at her mate’s betrayal. ‘Clara it’s okay. I’m sure Chaz is just as upset as us.’ I try to soothe her. ‘I know Elle. I know he’s angry with Nick, but I’m sad because you’re in pain.’ ‘I’ll be okay Clara. I just need some time.’

Before she can respond I feel strong arms grab me from behind. I knew right away who it was. Luca. My sweet, sweet Luca. “Baby, what happened. Tell me what you saw.” I could hear the pain in his voice.

I turn in his arms, looking into his gorgeous eyes and completely broke down. He picked me up bridal style and brought me to my room. After laying me down, he came beside me and gentle stroked my hair. Looking deep into my eyes he asked me again about what I saw. Taking a deep breath, I looked at him.

Luca’s POV

I can see the heartbreak in her eyes. I can feel the pain she’s in. I want to strangle my brother. I catch up to her in seconds and wrap my arms around her waist pulling her against my chest. “Baby, what happened? Tell me what you saw.” I say with a broken voice. I just want to see her smile. I want to hear her laugh. Her pain is breaking me.

She turns around to face me. Looks me right in the eyes and completely breaks down sobbing loudly. I pick her up quickly and bring her to her room where I know she’ll be comfortable. As I lay beside her, rubbing her head I ask again what she saw. She took a deep steading breath and looked at me.

She sat up and began to tell me. “First I saw when we were all kids playing together. Then I saw how he would steal glances at me whenever he thought no one was looking.” She smiled for a second before I could hear her voice crack. “But then.” “Shhh, it’s okay baby just tell me. I’ll fix this. I promise!” I try calming her.

“Luca this isn’t something you can fix. I know you would do anything for me. I know that. I saw how much you have always loved me. How you would pray that we were mates. I saw how even before you knew I was yours, I already meant the world to you!” She smiles softly at me and kisses me briefly.

“But Nick did not feel the same way. He-“ “He does love you Elle.” I try to tell her, but she puts her hands on my lips. “No baby he doesn’t. He has told dozens and dozens of girls that he loved them. That he couldn’t wait to make them his Luna. He doesn’t love me. He just wants to have s*x with me. He will say I love you to anyone who will spread their legs for him.” That motherfucker.

“WHAT DID HE SAY?” I couldn’t help the growl that escaped my chest. “He told every girl he has ever had s*x with that he loves them.” “Not that part. The second part.” “Oh that he couldn’t wait to make them his Luna.” She says with a broken smile. My poor angel. He has broken the most incredible girl because of how idiotic he is. “I’m gonna kill him. Yup, that’s what I’m gonna do.” I say as I stand. She’s quick to grab my hand. “You can’t kill him. He marked me. If you kill him, I die. Which then means you die. We don’t deserve to die because he can’t keep his d**k in his pants.”

I quickly sit back down beside her with a huff. “Well then I’ll lock him in the dungeons.” “Babe you can’t do that either. He’s still the Future Alpha.” “Yeah well so am I. I can do whatever I want.” She giggles at my childish behavior which cause me to pout. “Luca, I love you for wanting to protect me and stand up for me, but there really isn’t anything you can do. Just love me. Okay?” I look down at her and give her a deep kiss. “Now that I can do without a problem. Loving you has been like breathing for most of my life.”

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

“It’s him.” She says with scowl.

Nick’s POV

I knock on her door waiting for her to answer. Hoping it’s her and not my brother, but I know that probably won’t happen. When I see her standing there in just a T-shirt, I’m at a loss for words. “What do you want?” she asks with disgust clear in her voice. “Bab-“ “DON’T CALL ME THAT!” She growls. “Okay. Okay. Elle. Can we please talk? Just the two of us and figure this out?” I beg. “There’s nothing to figure out Nick. You clearly have loved every girl you have ever had s*x with and you could wait to make them your Luna. So why don’t you go and ask them to be it instead of me.” Venom is thick in every word she spits.

“I don’t want anyone other than you to be my Luna!” I snap.

“THAT’S NOT WHAT I SAW AND HEARD!!!!” She yells louder than I have ever heard her before. Tears are clear in her eyes. What have I done? I broke her.

“Elle, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything I said to those girls!” I try to reason.

“No s**t. I know you didn’t but that’s not the point. The point is, that I can’t trust anything you say because who’s to say you’re not just saying it to get me in bed?” She questions.

“Because you’re not those girls Elle. You’re my mate. Everything I feel for you and tell you is true.”

“No Nick. That’s the bond and your wolf. It’s not you.” She says before closing the door in my face.

“ELLE OPEN THIS DOOR NOW!!!”

The door flies open, except this time it is not my beautiful mate. It’s Luca.

“You need to go. NOW. I am trying to keep my wolf at bay brother, but he is ready to rip you to shreds. So, leave. NOW!” And again the door is slammed in my face.

How did I mess everything up already? How can I fix this if she won’t talk to me?

‘You better hope she forgives you, because at this point I’m ready to let Luca rip you to shreds.’ Chaz growls before closing our link.

Everyone hates me. My mate. My brother. My wolf. And myself. I even hate me.
