Chapter Two
Olivia's pov
My experience with Daniel was horrible, but I wouldn't let him or any other person dim my light
It got to my turn, and I walked into the room only to face my long-time crush, Ethan, the owner of Reynolds enterprise. I smiled
"Good morning, everyone", I began my presentation. Altogether they were four in the room
Ethan, a tall handsome man in his late twenties, with magnetic green eyes, and his hair was neatly combed to the side. He is the owner and CEO of the company. By Ethan's left, a beautiful girl sat beside him, she holds a strong position in the company, and for some reason, Ethan favored her
Many people in the company believed that it might be because Ethan's father and Vanessa's father are good friends; Vanessa has beautiful and sharp memorizing features, she has sensitive brown eyes and brunette hair, and her skin is soft and smooth. I definitely couldn't match with her
By Ethan's right sat a man in his late thirties, he was the most mature in the room, and I stood in front of all these people which high class and status. I couldn't match any of them
After I was done talking, a smile appeared on Ethan's face, and he was impressed. Vanessa noticed the smile on Ethan's face. She was surprised, she knew Ethan, and he hadn't smiled at anyone's performance before
Yes! She must admit, the girl's performance was terrific, but seeing Ethan's expression made her jealous, and right now, she sees Olivia as a threat
"That was very nice," Ethan said
"Thank you, sir" I could feel the heat on my cheeks; I couldn't believe my eyes and ears. I saw this as a good sign
"Oh God, please let me find favor in their eyes", I prayed
"You know the position you're applying for, right?" Vanessa said
"Yes ma'am", I replied
"Ok, I've seen your qualifications, and we will get back to you," The man in his late thirties said.
"Ok, thank you", I replied before walking out of the room
Vanessa eyed me as I walked out of the room; she didn't want me to get the job because she saw me as a threat,
but the final decision was not hers. Ethan makes the rules and employs whoever he wants to employ
Usually, he doesn't appear at any of these interviews, but the person that gets this job would be working as his assistant, so he didn't want to employ beauty and status; he wants to hire someone with brains
I got out of the room and saw Martha pacing,
"Oh my goodness, how was it," Martha asked as soon as she saw me walk out of the room
"It was fine; you didn't tell me I'd see the CEO," I said
"Well, I didn't know too, and I wouldn't be able to help you with anything," Martha said
"I already told you, Martha, I'm fine, and I don't need you to help me do anything; I'm fine on my own," I said
"You've always been like this, and I believe, but just in case you don't get this job, you can..."
"Stop this. No more negativity," I said and waved Martha goodbye before going home
I got home and hurried to my bedside where I kept my diary. It was a beautiful notebook; I wrote my bucket list here and hoped for God to help me get this job

Ethan’s POV
Back at Reynolds Enterprises office……….
After the countless people they saw today, they were all tired
"I like the pale skin girl who wore a pink long sleeve for the interview today; I'm bored of all these interviews," Ethan said as he walked out of the room to see a line of people who are here for the same job offer
So sad for them. I had already picked someone else, and Vanessa and Andrew will have to attend to every soul here
"So pathetic," I thought and went back to my office; I had a pile of work waiting for me, and this was one of the many times I needed a personal assistant so bad
I picked up my phone and dialed Vanessa, "I want that girl to start working here tomorrow", I said and hung up the call. I didn't bother to say hello, nor did I bother to listen to her reply
I knew I had good looks and status; I could have everything he wanted, and that was the best part of life for him. Although I didn't have any purpose to be happy, I was just a regular guy, but this regular guy was born into wealth, and I was able to achieve something great at this age
A knock on the door pulled my attention from my laptop to the door
"Come in," I said. Vanessa's hand pushed the door open as she made her way into the room
"Ethan, do you think employing that girl as your PA would be nice" She started but received no response from Ethan
"I mean, she has low status and ... And..." Vanessa searched for words she could use to downgrade Olivia, but she found none
I shifted my gaze from the laptop to Vanessa
"Are you questioning me?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow. Vanessa found him more attractive right now
"No, no, I'm not, but..."
"Then it is final; she'll start working here tomorrow," I said. Vanessa stood on the spot observing the handsome yet arrogant Ethan.
"Don't you have work to do?" I said, cutting Vanessa off from her world of fantasy.
"Yes, I'm sorry," Vanessa said as she turned to the door and walked out of it
Vanessa has had a crush on Ethan for years, and she finds everything he does attractive and cool
"Call the girl and inform her that she's hired," Vanessa said as she got out of the elevator,
"Ok, ma," The man in his thirties said. Everyone in the office respected Vanessa because they assumed that she was closer to Ethan than anyone else
