Chapter 8
Stella was relieved when DI Williams announced he'd watch their confrontation of Cassie King from the observation room behind the two-way glass in the interview room. The inspector's decision told her that he trusted that she and Brian would get the results they deserved.
Stella almost didn't recognize the woman in the interview room as Cassie King. She hadn't been expecting the short spiky head of jet-black hair that made Cassie look like something out of a punk rock magazine.
Brian started the interview by explaining the process to Cassie and reminding her of her rights.
Cassie looked at the duty lawyer sitting next to her and stated her name when Brian asked her to say it to record who was present at the interview.
