Chapter 11
While she waited for Brian to arrive, Stella watched Simon Wells, sitting in the interview room with his lawyer, through the two-way mirror. He was staring at the wall in front of him with his arms crossed on his chest, ignoring his lawyer. Not a happy man, thought Stella.
Brian arrived with DI Williams, who had decided to watch the interview as they interrogated Wells.
Stella sat in silence while Brian executed the required preliminaries and asked each person in the room to state their name for the purposes of the recording.
'Mr Wells, do you understand that we will be charging you with murder and attempted murder?' said Stella.
'Yes, but I don't know why.'
