Chapter 6
Melanie looked through the fridge and the pantry and made a list. With Nadia and Harry fretting over Julia, she'd decided to take charge of keeping the household running. She knew someone had to do it and soon realized that keeping herself busy was a better option than sitting around thinking about what was happening to Julia.
As far as Melanie could tell, Nadia was doing enough of that for all of them, and deep down inside she knew worrying wouldn't make one stick of difference to Julia's fate. And, it seemed to her that the only person that cared about what she'd been through was her mother, and she was hours away in Mt Gambier, too busy looking after her elderly parents to come and see her.
When she'd completed her shopping list, she went into the family room to see Harry,
