Chapter 3
John stopped eating. An image of Jeremy filled the screen of his TV as he sat watching the seven o'clock edition of the ABC News.
The news story accompanying the image was about a body found in the South Park Lands earlier in the day. The policeman speaking to the camera was asking anybody that recognized the man in the photograph to ring Crime Stoppers. A telephone number appeared on the screen below the image. John wrote down the number.
He called Jeremy's mobile number. The call went through to voice mail.
'Hi, Jeremy. John. Give me a call when you get this.'
He walked around the room. That number was his only contact for Jeremy. He didn't know where he lived and it was too late to call the bank where he worked.
John didn't know what to do. He didn't want to believe Jere
