Richard Winward and Harry Gordon agreed to meet Stella in the coffee shop on the ground floor of the Commonwealth Bank Building in King William Street at three.
Stella and Brian arrived at two fifty-five. The place was nearly empty. They bought coffee, sat at a table by the window, and waited.
A few minutes after three, two young men in dark suits entered the coffee shop and looked around. Brian got up and walked over to them.
'Harry and Richard?'
'I'm Richard,' said the taller of the two.
'Detective Constable Rhodes,' said Brian. 'Want to grab a coffee before you join us?'
'We'll pass on the coffee,' said Harry.
