Chapter 2: The Anonymous Comment
The anonymous comment, a cryptic message hidden amongst the well-wishes and condolences on her father's f*******: page, gnawed at Isabella. It simply read: "He knew too much." No name, no profile picture, just that chilling statement. Isabella traced the comment back to a profile – a seemingly innocuous account with few friends and even fewer posts. The profile picture was a blurry landscape, the user's name, a single, enigmatic initial: "X."
"Who was this man?" "Does he know her father?" "Is he involved in her father's death?". Fear crept into Isabella's thoughts. " Who the hell is this guy?".
Isabella was trembling, the phone in her hand shaking. Isabella questioned herself "Why the hell am I trembling? This guy must be dad's random friend right?" . Isabella turned off her phone and placed it in her pocket. She muttered to herself "I need to get into the bottom of this". She took out a polaroid picture of her dad, tears flowed down her eyes as she stared down at the picture.
"I'm going to find out the real reason why you died dad. I'm not giving up. Others might say that you just died from a heart attack but I'm not believing them. I'm gonna find them out myself"
Isabella was now very determined to find this anonymous guy and what is his relationship with her father. "Could they be friends? Or more?"
Isabella went back to the hospital. She saw her mom sitting in the lobby. Her eyes are blank and filled with exhaustion.
Isabella felt a pang of pain in her chest. She cannot stand seeing her mom like this. Isabella went closer to her mom.
"Mom? Why are you here? Where's dad's body?" she asked curiously waiting for her mother's response. Juana looked at her daughter, despite her sorrow and grief she's feeling currently, she managed to give Isabella a sweet smile "Your dad's is being cleaned to get his body place in the coffin". Isabella felt a pang of sadness when she heard those words.
"I see." Isabella's demeanor seemed to change, her body was tense, her fingers tapping on the wooden bench were she was sitting. Juana noticed her daughter's change of behavior, concerned etched in her face.
"Are you alright sweetie? You look very uneasy?". Isabella looked at her mother with a force smile in her lips trying to reassure her "I'm okay mom thanks"
The night went on very sad. Isabella and Juana went home feeling the weight of the world in their shoulders. It was very hard for them, they felt incomplete without him her father.
As soon as they got home Isabella went straight to her room and searched the guy's profile in f*******:. She typed for the guy's profile. At first she didn't saw that profile because there was a ton of f*******: users that are named "X" so it was pretty difficult to find. Isabella was about to give up when something caught her eye.
It was the same guy, same profile picture same f*******: friends and the same guy who commented in her dad's post. Isabella continued searching for information but can't find anything. She can't even seem to find the guy's face because there was no face reveal. Isabella groaned "Why is is so hard to find this guy's face?" she muttered and continued to find more clues of who this guy could be.
Time ticked and it was already 2:54 in the morning. Isabella's eyes are getting more and more droopy. She was about to pass out in her seat when she saw something.
"What could this be?"
