Chapter 11 Casual Date

Tobias' POV

I hold her to my side, keeping her warm as we sit outside in the garden maze. This has been one of the best moments of my life, and we really haven't done anything but talk.. I used to have to do drugs or drink to feel anything around a woman. It just baffles me the way she makes me feel inside and out. I'm just so happy and relieved she is going to give me some type of chance. I didn't think that would actually happen, I was just hoping it would.

"Toby? Becca? Come on in. I have a client who wants to meet you." My father states taking us out of our comfortable moment.. to my dismay.

I stand up, extending my hand to her, helping her up.

I hold her hand, leading her back through the maze, up the stairs, and through the terrace doors back inside. There is a small group of older men who are laughing and drinking as we make our way over to them.

"Gentlemen, this is my son Tobias. The one I have told you so much about." My father states as I shake all of their hands. "Pleasure to meet you." I say traditionally polite.

"So.. Tobias.. I have to ask where you got the idea for the new advertisement? It was absolutely brilliant?" He asks as I freeze up.. not knowing what to say, but I don't know what he is even talking about. I shake my head and open my mouth to respond as Rebecca is the one to answer for me.

"He won't even tell me how he comes up with his ideas, and he tells me everything.. so I'm sure you won't get it out of him.. but I reworded the proposed advertisement for him because I knew exactly what he was trying to portray.. He gets these brilliant ideas all the time without realizing it, so I just reword it and send it in for him.. I'm more of the translator for his brilliance." She states, smiling back at me.

"Well, aren't you just a sight for sore eyes, you're absolutely lovely, and who are you, my dear?" The man reaches out, taking her hand into his kissing it. I watch Rebecca blush at this action as she shyly says, "I'm Toby's personal assistant, I have been for 5 years now.. my name is Rebecca."

"Wow, a lovely name for a lovely lady.. how do you get anything done with a distraction like her around Toby?" He asks as I chuckle and state, "Who says I get anything done?" They men laugh and nod as Rebecca playfully slaps my chest.

"Well, if you ever want a change of scenery, give me a call beautiful." He hands her his card as she smiles and takes it. "Thanks, that's too nice of you.. but I'm happy where I'm at." She says, glancing up at me as he scoffs and says, "Of course you are.. but if he messes up, I better be next in line." He winks at her as she giggles and nods shyly. He takes her hand, kissing it again as I take her hand in mine, stating. "It was a pleasure to meet you all, and I'm sure we will meet again. Have a great night."

I walk away with Rebecca in tow, "So what advertisement was he talking about?" I ask curiously as she laughs and states, "The one you approved of a month ago.. I just revised a couple of things, but it was all your idea.. you sometimes come up with good ideas when you're drunk, so I jot them down."

I humm in response, "So you're the reason for my success at my work?" I ask playfully as she responds just as playfully. "Only for the last 5 years, and I don't know if you had anything successful happen before that." She laughs pretty loud as I grab her a drink, handing it to her.

"Well, thanks for saving my ass out there with them. I really don't know what I would do without you." I say to her so honestly as she scoffs, and I retort instantly, "I'm serious, Beck.. You're amazing, and I wouldn't be here without you.. or at least the person I am today without you."

She smiles big at me. That is until I hear, "Hey Tobe, long time no see. Give me a dance." I look over as I see the one person I never thought I would see again after she left me to travel the world.. She was the one and only woman I thought I loved before, but she cheated and left me, so I went straight to just sleeping with everyone and anyone... until now.

"Bianca.. hi.. um.." I look at Rebecca as she nods, and I take Bianca's hand into mine, starting this dance off with her.

"Why are you here?" I ask her as she spins in my hold. "What does it matter why I'm here.. all that matters is that I am here.. with you.. we could try to do this again, you and I Tobe." She states as I shake my head, staring at Rebecca, who looks sad at the drink table.

"No, we can't Bianca, you had your chance, and it's long gone." I say as the tempo picks up as she spins rubbing against me as she whispers in my ear, "No my chance is not long gone, You can lie all you want, but your body doesn't lie. I can tell someone missed me." She says as I shake my head, saying. "No, I'm taken."

She scoffs as she says, "That woman over there? She looks like an old boring mom.. You know you want what I can offer over what she can.. Come on, Tobe, " She asks as I spin her and walk away, saying behind me. "She is more than that.. and all I want." I walk up to Rebecca as she looks confused back and forth between me and Bianca.

I grab her hand, leading her out to dance with me. "Don't worry about Bianca, she just gets jealous easily, but I'm sure she will see something shiny and leave again soon enough.. she never sticks around anywhere too long." I state to Rebecca.

She looks at me nervously as she states, "What? is she an ex or something?" I nod as I state, "She was my first love when I wasn't a ladies' man, doing drugs or alcohol.. then she cheated on me and left me for the next best thing.. she only comes back when she wants something, and then she leaves again.. she is the creator of the monster you single handedly destroyed." I explain so honestly as her mouth drops open.

"Do you still have feelings for her?" She asks, and I don't want to lie to her.

"I will always have a part of me that still has small feelings for her, but that's the same as with your late husband.. It's not the same things I feel about you, but it was something.. but a long time ago. Don't worry about her." I explain again as I watch her eyes go wide.

"I don't know why you want me when all those girls that want you look like that." She says so insecurity as I explain. "It's because, like my father said, they are all girls, and I want a real woman, and you're her.. I swear, don't worry, you're way more beautiful than they could ever imagine to be because you're beautiful inside and out. but those girls are only beautiful on the outside.. there is a big difference, and it's taken me a while to figure that out. But now that I have you, I don't want anyone else."

"You guys just look so good together and natural.. It's really intimidating, actually.. but if you insist, then I'll take your word for it and try not to worry about her as much as I can.. but I don't know if I like the idea of her sticking around until she finds something new because it looks like she is trying to lock her claws in on you." She states as I spin her, then pull her closer than before. "She will probably try again, but it won't work.. she does this every time she comes in town.. but I already told her I'm with you." I state as she asks shyly. "I don't think she took that for an answer." She says, looking to the side. I look over as I lock eyes with Bianca, who is winking and blowing me kisses.. I can't believe she can be so shameless with Rebecca right here. Unbelievable.

I groan at that action as I decide to one up Bianca showing her I really am taken. I take Rebecca spinning her as I stop and dip her, then kissing her so posessively, as I feel her moan into my lips, turning me on instantly. I flip her back up to her feet, breaking our kiss as she looks stunned in place asking. "What.. what was that for?" She stutters through her question as I grin and respond. "I had to make sure Bianca knew I was with you and you alone." She smiles shyly at me as I ask her.. "You ready to leave this place.. we could go get a drink or food or just hang out if you want to." I ask her as she curiously looks up at me.

"Wait, this is technically YOUR party with food and drinks, and you want to ditch it with me? You always stay for the whole party." She asks even more surprised.

"Yea, we have been here long enough.. They mostly just needed to see my face here, and I have talked with multiple people, donated money, had a drink, and danced.. I know a place to go to ditch this Gala at least for a little bit.. come on." I grab her hand as she giggles, and we sneak out of the Gala and out the door to the terrace.

Rebecca's POV

I can't help but be intimidated by his ex love Bianca.. Even her name sounds fancy and she has a stunning english accent, of course! How am I supposed to compare to that.. I even want to sleep with her! I don't understand how he doesn't want her, and it's kind of hard for me to believe when I see how well they fit together while dancing.

Toby and I are opposites, and they always say opposites attract, but they both just seemed perfect for each other.. But don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm willing to give him away or anything. I'm just scared shitless of getting my heart broken.

It's so hard to be worried about getting my heart broken when he is just making me feel so young. He grabs my hand sneakily, pulling me through the Gala to ditch all of this fancy stuff just to be with me.. normally, the old Tobias would stay they whole party eating and drinking everything in sight along while hitting on every woman in sight, and here he is wanting to ditch all that with me.. it's intoxicating, really.

We are sneaking past the security, and you have no idea how hard it is to ditch a Gala in a ball gown trying to be stealthy. I think Tobias realizes this because every time we have to stop and hide, he hides me by standing over me, I think using his black tuxedo to camouflage us.

Toby has hold of my hand, continuing to pull me around the building hiding in the shadows as we make our way to the back of the property.

We run to a bridge across the way, where it doesn't look like anyone is at, or even close to. This makes my heart race at the childish actions, making me feel like a new relationship that you have to sneak around with. What fun.

I'm giggling as he is chuckling a deep husky toned rumble, making me want to make him laugh all the time. We finally come to a stop running on the bridge.

"Beck.. I know this might sound stupid, but that was so exhilarating." Toby says to me as I smile and nod in aggreeance. "You just make me feel so young.." I state as he looks at me curiously. "What do you mean?

"Like first times dating, you know.. the first casual dates, getting to know each other that you just hang out at having fun but experiencing and learning more about each other." I explain as he shakes his head at me. This shocks me as I clarify because maybe he doesn't understand what I mean.

"You're telling me you never went on just a casual date? Like the carnival, movies, amusement park?" I list off as he looks nervous, shaking his head.

"Well, I bet I will regret asking this.. but you said Bianca was your first and only love. What did you two do? You never went on dates with her? Going out and just having fun?" I ask as he shakes his head, explaining.

"What about my father says, yes, please go out and have a fun casual time with friends or even a girl?? He won't ever let me relax or have fun.. hence why I went crazy doing what I wanted.. and Bianca's father and mine work together, so I have known her since I was young, and for a very long time, she was the only woman I spent any time with.. she was the only one who made me feel like I wasn't alone.. but we were never allowed to go out and have fun.. we couldn't even leave the place unsupervised." He says, and that explanation alone makes me so sad for him.

"Well, this, like what we are doing now, is like a casual date.. We just do something, not stressful, relaxing as much as we can around each other while getting to know each other better... I just always assumed that being the ladies' man that you are, that you went on thousands of dates." I state honestly as he says.

"Well, if I'm being honest.. most of the dates I went on were just for show.. I would only spend a couple hours at the most with them and then send them on their way.. it was mostly to piss off my father." He says to me as I smile and state. "Yea, that's what I used to do with my dad.. he was a way overprotective military man, so I couldn't even look at a guy or he would freak out. So I would sneak out to go on dates, and he only caught me coming home a couple of times, but man, I will never forget those a couple of times.. he ripped me a new one for sure." I state as he laughs, looking down at me, "So you were the little bad girl.. I can't see that for some reason." He says as I nod and shyly say, "I guess you could say that. I just wanted to have a fun time, and it always seemed to be the bad boys who had the most fun.. so I would run off with them a time or two."

"So how do we go to one of these carnivals or amusement parks?" Tobias asks as my mouth drops open again in shock.

"Wait? Do you want to go with me to the carnival and the amusement park? Do you want me to take you on casual dates?" I ask in astonishment.. I feel like I'm in some sort of dream that I hope I never wake from.

"Yea.. why not? You could be my bad girl showing me a good time since I have never had these experiences before.. and if you're OK with it, we could bring your kids too." He says to me. My mouth is going to be stuck open if he doesn't stop completely shocking me with every word he says.

"What is going on here? I never thought in a million years you would ever act like this with me.. please tell me this isn't all fake to get me into bed." I state as he chuckles at me, shaking his head.

"I just want to do things differently because you're different.. Those types of dates sounded fun and I have seen lots of movies and the internet of those places but I have never been. I honestly thought it was mostly for show.. and I promise none of this is fake, but I wouldn't mind at all getting you into bed.. either way." He says, winking at me as my face blushes. I playfully smack his chest as I say, "That's not first date talk."

"What kind of talk did you expect from me.. I have resisted doing anything with you for 5 years, and you think I'm not going to make those comments to you when I'm around you.. especially when you're looking like this.. then it's like you don't even know me at all." He says sarcastically as I laugh and shake my head.

"Thank you." I say softly to him as a confused look appears across his face. "For what?"

"For just making me feel.. pretty.. I know I'm not as beautiful as the models you usually have wrapped around you.. but you make me feel that beautiful. I know it's the make-up and dress talking, but still.. I really like this. You make me feel amazing.. I haven't felt that.. in a long time." I explain, making him smile big as he steps closer to me. I lean up against the bridge as he almost pins me underneath him. His hand reaches up, touching my cheeks as he softly states to me.

"You don't even know how beautiful you are to me.. I wish you could see it.. I think you're the most amazing woman all around. You mesmerize me with everything you do, and you don't need the make-up or dress to do it because you have been making me feel that way for years without it."

My heart races at his close proximity, but I don't mind, because all I can't think is how my heart might actually beat out of my chest if he gives me what I want.. and that's a kiss.

He leans in slowly pausing every now and then, I think, trying to give me a chance to object if I have one, but I do not.

Toby presses his lips to mine as I push my body more into him. His hand is still on my cheek, gently caressing the side of it. I feel his mouth open as I stick my tongue in massaging his with it. I love to french kiss, and I haven't done it in forever. I needed to see how good he tasted because I had a feeling about it, and I was correct.

Toby breaks the kiss. Turning away from me. I feel my face heat up in embarrassment.. maybe he didn't like that.. maybe I don't do things the way he is used to. I think myself letting my mind reel at all the reasons he broke that kiss and walked away.

"Are you ok? Did you not like that?" I squeak out almost too nervous to ask loudly. He flips around, taking a deep breath in, then letting it out. "No, that kiss.. was.. scrumptious and makes me not just want the appetizer but the main course and dessert... But I'm trying to control myself and wait.. so I had to step away from that amazing kiss to breathe before I took you right here right now." He states as I smile big, blushing even more.

"Well, how about we just go home before anything happens that we might regret.. because I really don't want to regret anything with you.. and if you're not too busy after work.. I could take you and my kids to the amusement park.. for a little bit, and if you're not tired of us by the end of the night, maybe we can do dinner?" I ask as he vigorously nods.

"Ok, that sounds like fun.. I'm excited.. Um, how are you getting home? Did you need a ride since your date was arrested?" He asks as I smile and nod.

"That would be nice, thank you.. if not, I could always just get an Uber." I watch Toby shake his head quickly, stating. "I would love to give you a ride home.. not to try to be creepy or anything.. but to be a gentlemen walking you to your door after our first casual 'Date'." He says making air quotes at that reference.

I smile and nod as I follow him around the building and to the valet getting his car. He opens the door for me as he circles, getting into the driver's seat.

He starts the engine as he says. "I actually don't know where you live at all, Beck. If you could direct me, I would greatly appreciate it." I smile and direct him across town and to my place. He parks right out front, getting out of the car and opening the door for me. He helps me out and leads me up to my front door.. I never would have thought this was how the night would end when I saw how it was starting.

I stare up at him nervously as I break the silence. "Thank you for everything tonight. You made my night amazing, and the first casual date was fun. I like getting to know the real you under this tough exterior."

He smiles down at me as he says, "You know you're the only one who I haven't lied to? You're the only one who I have told all of this too and shown this side of me, and I'm happy to know you like it as much as I do. I like this side of me that you're bringing out, and I didn't know this man ever really existed, but you're just discovering new things about me the more you dig deep. I just love the effect you have been having on me." He says to me as I get on my toes, kissing his lips lightly. I feel his hand go to my hips and pull me in. We kiss until the front door of my house opens, scaring the both of us breaking our kiss.

"I told you it was Toby!" Eddie says as Katie groans, giving him some money. My mouth drops open as Eddie asks, "So you were talking about her the whole time, right?" Toby nods as Eddie smiles and says, "I'll approve of you for my mother, as long as you treat her with respect and if you break her heart I'll figure out a way to break every bone in your body."

"Edward!" I say as Toby speaks up, retorting back, "I will do everything I can to try to make sure she doesn't get hurt. I have liked your mother for years and have been waiting for her to start dating again, so I want to do this right.. if you guys would like to join us. I want to go to the amusement park for a little while tomorrow.. on a casual date because I have never been."

"Eddie and Katie both smile big as they look right at me, saying, "If you can bring a date, can we?" I think about it for a second. I'm nervous to let them date, but at least I would be able to be there in case anything goes wrong, and it will be fun for all of us.

"Ok, fine, you can both bring your dates after school and work tomorrow.." They both hop around in excitement. That is until Eddie asks sarcastically to Toby.. "So how is my mother with kissing?" My mouth drops open as I state, "He doesn't really want to know that Toby he is just trying to embarrass me, and it is working very well."

"She is an amazing kisser and the most fun I have ever had. Especially for a first casual date, and may I say Katie, she looks like some sort of goddess with your outfit and make-up help.. she told me you did all of this, and I honestly thought it was done by a professional. Good job, keep it going, and I bet you could make it into a career.. and Eddie, good job on your win in your game and the successful date.. I hear someone has a girlfriend and a date to the dance." He states so honestly, making my kids smile so big as my mouth drops open again. "You actually listened to what I was talking about with my kids?" I ask as he chuckles and states as if it's just a matter of fact. "Of course I did. I told you I wanted to spend time with you and your family.. getting to know you guys, and I meant it.. Well, I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your night.. sweet dreams, and I'll see YOU in the morning." He says to me as I blush and nod. He leans in kissing my cheek as he turns and prances down the stairs to his car.
