The Search Begins

Chapter 3: The Search Begins Adrian Vale had never chased anyone in his life. People came to him. Investors begged for meetings, rivals feared him, and women tried to win his attention. But now, for the first time, he was the one searching. And it was for a girl who vanished like mist. The next morning, Adrian called an emergency meeting with his private security team. “I want every camera in the city center checked,” he ordered coldly. “Find this woman.” He placed a sketch on the table. It was her face, drawn from memory—long dark hair, delicate features, and unforgettable silver eyes. The men exchanged nervous looks. “Yes, sir.” Days passed, but no one found her. Adrian grew more impatient. His temper became sharper, and the entire company felt the pressure. Meanwhile, Luna watched from a distance. She stood across the street from Vale Corporation, hidden beneath a hooded coat. Her eyes rested on the man behind the glass walls of the top floor office. “He still remembers,” she whispered softly. A warm voice beside her spoke. “You should stay away from him.” Luna turned and saw an elderly woman holding an umbrella. “I can’t,” Luna replied quietly. “He lives in danger.” “So do I.” That night, Adrian left the office exhausted. As his car stopped at a red light, he noticed someone standing on the sidewalk. Silver eyes. “Stop the car!” he ordered. Before the driver could react, Adrian stepped out and ran through the traffic. “Wait!” Luna turned, surprised, then began walking faster. Adrian followed her through narrow streets and quiet alleys until she stopped in front of an old bookstore. Breathing hard, he stared at her. “You can run, but I’ll keep finding you.” Luna looked at him calmly. “Why?” she asked. “Because no one has ever made me feel this way.” For the first time, her expression softened. But then she whispered words that chilled him. “If you stay near me, Adrian Vale… your life will never be safe again.”
