Chapter 7: Medication

1054 Words
Liliana’s Point of View Medication I was foolishly staring and scanning my phone waiting for someone’s call who, unfortunately, didn’t make his move. I can name myself ludicrous upon waiting for Von to call. I’d like to thank him for his courtesy yet I don’t think my pride could do better. Rolling my eyes in the air, I stood from where I was and went to my wardrobe. My eyes fell on my clothes and saw that there were a lot of things that I needed to do laundry. After a couple of minutes picking my outfit, I finally settled with a sheer halter cropped top and fitted jeans. My timetable for today was to visit my mom in the hospital. We haven’t seen each other for days and I don’t think I may be able to visit her. The school works and work has been added to my priorities. Although my mom has been the first one, I don’t even think I could handle this one at a time. The quick shower took place for over ten minutes only. I’ll just go and stopped by at the nearest convenience store to buy something for my mom though. When I’m done with what I’m doing, I immediately booked a cab and went to the nearest grocery store to buy fruits, food, stocks, and necessities I will be needing. “Wow,” I said, looking at the alcohol I just passed by. I’m not really a fan of alcohol but seeing its price and its brand makes my eyes into an owl one. “That’s the latest release under PMLiquors,” one of the salesladies approached me. My gaze went up. She was showing me a huge smile and showing off her white teeth. “Really? I’ve been hearing the brand quite a while now.” “Honestly, they are under a big company. They just opened a new business and it’s liquors, it’s popular especially when you’re an adult or teen who loves going to a bar.” She explained to me. I nodded my head like I was interested. It’s quite interesting though. Some alcohol is a hundred grand above while this one settles for only twenty bucks. I was indeed speechless, actually. “Do you wanna try, ma’am? It's a weekend sale and will end later today.” I shook my head in answer. I continued shopping and putting some things in my basket. I am planning to take stocks with me to the hospital since sometimes, I spend my time there but there are times when I'm coming home. My mom has no one on her side. My Father died early and I have no siblings. Until then, she was the one who gave me everything. She worked her a*s off until I came to college to finish my degree and find a decent job that pays a high amount. But when I was already out of age, I became a working student. Strolling around, I saw a set of fruits that my Mom ever wanted. The quick grocery shopping was quick. After that, I waited for a bus to come and passed by then immediately got in when one stopped right in front of me. When I reached the hospital, the first one I saw was my mom’s doctor checking up on her. “Doc,” I said casually. “You’re here.” He asserted. My mother smiled at me. “You went to the grocery, huh. Where did you get your money? I thought we no longer have one?” With her question, I don’t know what I am going to say. Although, what I wanted right now was to talk with my mother’s doctor and tell him I already have grands to spend treating my mom. The old doctor looked at me and took a deep breath. “I’m glad you’re already here, Liliana. Do you have a minute?” I hesitatingly nodded my head. “Uh-huh. We could talk outside, Doc.” He excused himself to my mother. He was the first one to come out then followed by me. I was about to go out when my mother spoke. “Come back here, young lady! You haven’t answered my question yet!” She hissed, which only gave me a reason to chuckle. I came out and saw that the doctor was outside talking to a nurse. When he saw me coming his way, he dismissed the nurse instantly. “I’d like to discuss your mom’s condition with you, Liliana,” he said, a bit down. I brace myself and nodded. “I’m all ears, Doc.” He took a deep breath and spoke. “Her condition is getting worse because of delays when it comes to her medications.” “We can continue treating her. I already found a way…” “That’s great to hear, dear. As you can see, her case isn’t easy to breathe. She should receive monthly treatment and it may cost much, Liliana. Can you cover her expenses?” The money Von gave me is not that big. However, I could work again in clubs without his knowledge so… “Yes, Doc. I already have the money here, if you’re fine with it, I can pay for her advance in three months.” The doctor only nodded his head to me. Our conversation was just quick. I came inside again and saw my mother who is happily watching. Her eyes went to mine when she saw me looking at her. “Liliana!” she asserted. “Did the company you’re applying for already accept you?” My mother would be angry if she found out what kind of daughter I became. She won’t be able to forgive me if she’d known I sold my body to a devil businessman. I flashed her a soft smile. “Yes, mom. They agreed to my proposal.” “That’s great then! I can’t wait until I’m officially off this hospital.” Hearing those words badly hurts me. Seeing how my mom suffered in her sickness thinking all her life, she’s already been through hell and had no rest. If there's solely one, it might only be a couple of days. She was watching a movie on the television. She’s enjoying the scene as well.
