The compound was exactly as Alexei had described. Main building, two stories, concrete and steel. Outbuildings for storage and guards' quarters. High fence, cameras, patrol routes.
But lighter security than expected. Konstantin was confident. Arrogant. Believed Adrian wouldn't dare come early.
Fatal mistake.
Adrian moved through the shadows like a ghost. Years of training, years of survival, all coming together in this moment. He disabled cameras as he passed. Avoided patrol routes. Made himself invisible.
The east entrance was unlocked, as promised.
Inside, the hallway was dim. Emergency lighting only. Adrian paused, listening. Voices from upstairs. Guards talking, relaxed. Not expecting trouble.
