Axel POV
Goddess, this woman is mind blowing and I don’t even know her name yet. After our release, I pulled out of her and started to pull myself back together. I started chuckling while I was buckling my belt,”it’s nice to meet—“, I stopped mid-sentence realizing I’m suddenly alone in the bathroom. I looked over at the door and saw it slowly closing. I try to finish up as fast as I can so I can track down this mate of mine.
I quickly ran out of the bathroom and started scanning the crowd to find her. I don’t see her anywhere. I close my eyes and concentrate on her scent. I followed it to the entrance of the club, she’s not here. I race out to the street and stand there dumbfounded. Her scent is suddenly gone.
Where is mate?!! Aztec growled possessively.
I don’t know, Aztec, how are we supposed to find her? I don’t even know her name
We’ll need to stay close by until we find mate. Send for recon in the surrounding areas!
I know you were good for something!
Aztec growls begrudgingly at me and recedes to the depths of my mind. Well, the hunt is on!
Isabella POV
Even though that was the best s*x of my life, I had the sudden urge to get away from the adonis. I didn’t have any time for distractions when I was almost there. My plans are too important to throw them away for some guy, who probably wouldn’t even remember my name the next day.
I pulled out my phone to call Danny. She was ready for our next destination after ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ was over. I see she sent me a text saying they were waiting out front. I didn’t waste any time to meet them, I didn’t want to take a chance of getting sucked into whatever that man would bring.
***************
I lay there in my bed, thinking of the night before. That man was unbelievably beautiful that I can’t even believe how bold I was in taking him. And the heat I felt when I touched him was unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so rash to leave the second we finished….
What am I saying? Keep your eyes on the prize, Isabella! If I stay laying here then I might end up thinking about those chocolate orbs, that sweet tongue, those muscular arms all damn day.
I looked over at the clock on my nightstand and it read 9 AM. I’ve already been awake for a couple of hours but just laid here the whole time. I was waiting to hear Danny and Alex wake up. I’ve been blessed with a wonderfully high tolerance of alcohol. They always wake up with the worst hangovers while I just usually have a slight headache.
I walked into the bathroom to shower when I saw Danny crumpled on the floors next to the toilet. ‘This poor girl’ I thought while I crouched over to make sure she was still breathing.
“I think those last couple rounds of drinks were a mistake.” She whined while keeping her position on the floor with her eyes closed.
I chuckled,” they probably were.”
I picked up Danny off the floor and helped her get cleaned up. After she was taken care of, I got myself cleaned up. I went looking for Alex to see if he was in the same position I found his sister in. He seemed slightly better, he was on his way to the other bathroom when I ran into him.
“Good morning! Your night wasn’t too rough was it?” I playfully asked him.
He cringed while rubbing his forehead,”Why do you have to yell at me, Izz?”
I chuckled,”sorry, I wasn’t trying to. Go get ready, so we can go to brunch.” I told him in a hushed tone. He gave me a playful salute and walked past me to the bathroom.
We went to brunch at my favorite place, Sunny’s. Our meal was mostly in silence since Alex and Danny were nursing their hangovers. Shortly after our food arrived I could tell they were starting to feel better since they started talking more. We finished up our food, along with some mimosas and headed home. The rest of the day was definitely going to be low key.
I was laying on my bed, staring up at the ceiling, thinking about the handsome stranger again when there’s a knock on the door.”Come in,” I said loud enough for them to hear through the door. Alex peeps his head in from the other side of the door,”Hey, how’s it going?” He asks.
“Good, just laying here. The past few days have been nonstop, so I just needed to take a beat.”
He steps into my room and closes the door behind him as I sit up on the edge of my bed.”I see,” he says. I watch him quietly walk towards me with his head hanging down and eyes watching the floor. He sits next to me on my bed and starts rubbing his legs, nervously. I sat there, waiting for him to say something. When nothing came, I asked,”is everything okay, Alex?”
He sighs,”I want to talk to you about something, actually, Izz.” My heartbeat quickens. Nervousness or excitement?
I wait for him to answer as he continues to stare at the floor. Moments of silence linger in the air , “About what?,” I ask impatiently.
“I needed to come tell you the main reason why Lisa and I broke up…” he trailed off. The main reason? What does that mean? And what does it have to do with me? I stare at him, questioningly. Finally he lifts his gaze to meet mine. There goes that look in his eyes again. The same look he had when he gave me my gift last night, gentle and loving.
He reaches up and caresses my face with his hand, I close my eyes and lean into it. Suddenly, I feel his soft lips pressed onto mine.
