Chapter Eleven She didn’t think it was possible for her nose to hurt more than it had the day before. In fact, it wasn’t just her nose. It felt as if her entire face had been hit by a Mack truck as she made her way down the steps from bed, the sun bright, her glasses resting on top of her head because of the swelling and the fact that anything touching her nose hurt. She made her way into the bathroom, not hearing a sound outside, which was unusual. When she saw her face in the mirror, the image staring back at her was black and blue and swelling, a hideous image she couldn’t show to anyone. No wonder she hurt the way she did, so she opened the medicine cabinet above the sink and pulled out a bottle of Advil.
