Chapter Twenty-Three
“Daddy, uh…” She came up short, feeling the heat from Cameron behind her as she stared down at her father, who was standing there now with an expression that was anything but friendly.
“So what is this?” Robert gestured between them, and she took in Jerry, who was shaking his head behind her dad. Was it a warning? She didn’t have a clue, considering she hadn’t really shared with anyone other than Taz that she was going on a date with Cameron, and Taz had already given her an earful.
“Well, Cameron and I are going out for dinner,” she said, but her father was looking past her at Cameron as if she wasn’t even there and this conversation didn’t include her.
