MY FAT NERD EX-CRUSH IS NOW MY CEO
MY FAT NERD EX-CRUSH IS NOW MY CEO
Prologue — The Two Mistakes of My School Life
My name is Nora, but my close friends call me Noa. I’m twenty-seven years old.
I’ve always been a simple girl. I don’t care much about shopping, expensive clothes, or luxury brands. I like waking up early, finishing my work on time, and going to bed early.
I have two best friends who mean the world to me—Tia and Ava.
But there are two memories from school that I have never been able to forget.
One was about the boy who rejected me.
The other was about the boy I rejected.
The Boy I Loved
When I was in ninth grade, I had a huge crush on the most handsome boy in school.
His name was Ethan.
I liked him for almost two years.
Finally, when I was in tenth grade, I gathered enough courage to confess my feelings.
But Ethan already liked another girl from our class.
He rejected me.
And his words hurt more than the rejection itself.
Ethan: "Nora, you're a nice girl, but I could never fall in love with someone as simple as you."
I went home that day and cried.
I thought nobody would ever love me.
I was wrong.
Because someone already did.
The Boy I Rejected
There was another boy in our class.
His name was Adam.
Adam was completely different from Ethan.
He wasn't handsome.
He was overweight, quiet, and usually kept to himself.
But he liked me.
One day, he gathered enough courage to confess his feelings.
Tia and Ava were standing beside me.
Adam's hands were shaking.
Adam: "Nora... I need to tell you something."
Nora: "What?"
He took a deep breath.
Adam: "I like you."
Tia and Ava started laughing.
And I laughed too.
Instead of understanding his feelings, I humiliated him.
Nora: "Adam, even if you were the last boy on Earth, I would never fall in love with you."
His smile disappeared.
He didn't argue.
He didn't defend himself.
He simply walked away.
The next day, Adam was gone.
I later found out that he had left the school.
I didn't think much about it.
Life moved on.
I forgot Ethan.
I forgot Adam.
Or at least...
I thought I had.
EPISODE 1 — THE NEW CEO
"Oh God!"
I looked at the clock.
8:42 a.m.
"I'm late!"
Today was the first day of our new CEO.
Our previous CEO had retired, and his son was taking over the company.
I rushed out of my apartment.
On the way to work, I stopped at a coffee shop.
It was packed.
I was already running late, and there was a long line.
When I finally got my coffee, someone bumped into me.
The cup slipped from my hand.
Splash!
Hot coffee covered my white dress.
I stared at myself in disbelief.
Nora: "Perfect. Just perfect."
I had no choice but to go back home and change.
By the time I reached the office, I was even later.
Tia and Ava were standing near the entrance with flowers.
Tia: "Nora! You're finally here! The new CEO is about to arrive!"
Ava: "And why did you change your dress?"
Nora: "Long story. Coffee ruined my morning."
Before they could say anything else, our manager shouted,
Manager: "Everyone, quiet! The CEO is arriving!"
A luxurious black car stopped outside the building.
A tall man stepped out.
He wore a perfectly tailored three-piece suit, expensive shoes, and a luxury watch.
Everyone went silent.
He walked toward us.
Tia whispered,
Tia: "Wow..."
Ava nodded.
Ava: "He's really handsome."
I was about to agree when the man stopped directly in front of us.
He looked at Tia.
Then Ava.
Then his eyes settled on me.
He smiled.
Man: "You three really don't recognize me?"
We stared at him.
The manager quickly stepped forward.
Manager: "Mr. Adam, welcome to the company."
My heart skipped.
Adam?
No.
It couldn't be.
The man smiled.
Adam: "I'm Adam."
My entire body froze.
I looked at his eyes.
Those eyes.
I knew them.
Nora: "Adam...?"
His smile widened.
Adam: "Yes, Nora."
Tia looked at me.
Tia: "Wait... is this the same Adam?"
Ava covered her mouth.
Ava: "Oh my God."
Adam ignored them.
His eyes remained on me.
Adam: "You haven't changed much."
I forced a smile.
Nora: "You... have."
His expression became unreadable.
Adam: "I've changed a lot, Nora."
He walked inside with the manager.
I remained frozen.
The overweight, quiet boy from my school days was gone.
In his place stood a confident, handsome, successful man.
My new CEO.
Inside the CEO's Office
Adam closed the door behind him.
He sat at his desk and opened a drawer.
Inside was an old school photograph.
My photograph.
He stared at it.
You never saw me, Nora.
His fingers touched the photograph.
You only saw my weight.
He smiled bitterly.
But I saw everything about you.
He put the photograph away.
Adam: "But things are different now."
A knock came at the door.
Adam: "Come in."
I stepped inside.
Nora: "Sir, you called me?"
Adam looked at me.
Adam: "Yes."
He stood beside the window.
Adam: "We have an important project tonight. I need you to stay late."
Nora: "Of course, Sir."
He turned toward me.
Adam: "You don't have a problem staying late with your boss?"
Nora: "No."
A small smile appeared on his face.
Adam: "Good."
I turned to leave.
Adam: "Nora."
I looked back.
Nora: "Yes, Sir?"
Adam: "Do you have a boyfriend?"
I blinked.
Nora: "What?"
Adam: "I asked if you have a boyfriend."
Nora: "No. I don't."
His smile returned.
Adam: "Good to know."
I left his office, completely confused.
I had no idea why my relationship status mattered to him.
And I certainly didn't know that Adam had returned to my life with a plan.
