Liliana's Innocence

Chapter 2

As we pull up to the school my hands start to shake and sweat. I clasp them together to try to stop them. What if they dont like me? Will I make any friends here? I question

"We're here Lily.", Maddox voice breaks me of my worried thoughts. He opens the door and helps me out of the truck.

I grab my backpack and sling it across my shoulder. Maddox stands close to me as we travel up the walkway that leads towards the main doors of the school.

Once we walk in I notice that the hallways are mostly empty except for a few people walking around. That must mean first period already started

We walk into the office to grab my schedule for the first semester. The nice lady at the desk gives it to me. I say thank you and look down at it.

1st: AP English 

2nd: AP Biology 

3rd: Trigonometry 

4th: Physical Education 

5th: Lunch/Free Period 

6th: Art

I notice how there are only six periods in the day, maybe the classes are just really long. Most of my classes are AP, which shouldn't be to hard. Papa says I'm a fast learner. We leave the office and start walking towards first period. I regret coming late.

Maddox stops once we get to the classroom door, "Lilly, I'm gonna drop you off at your class since I don't have first period with you. Once class is over, wait right outside the doors and I'll come get you.", I start to shake slightly, "Don't worry Lily you'll do great.".

I wave bye to him and open the door to the  english class. The teacher stops talk and turns towards me. She looks about in her mid thirties, she also has a sweet and welcoming smile on her face. Most of the students stop what they are doing and turn towards the door to see who entered. I make eye contact with a few of them than I just look at my feet.

"Oh you must be the new student! Welcome to our English class. Why don't you introduce yourself!" The teacher says as she grabs my shoulders and places me upfront.

I stand still for a bit, I take in a deep breath and start to talk. "Hi, um I'm Liliana Grey-", a girl in the back cuts me off.

"You're Maddox's sister?" She asks shocked, is he popular here? 

I nod my head and continue, "Um, ya a-anyways. I'm 17 an-and this i-is my first year in public s-school.", I say tripping over my words. I'm very shy around anyone, it doesn't matter who I always stutter. My cheeks blow up.

"Well welcome Lilly, you can take a seat wherever is open.", she gives me a reassuring smile.

I take a seat in the fourth row by the windows. I sit down and take a deep breath. This is gonna be a long day, I could use some yummy chocolate right about now.

Just like Maddy told me to, I waited outside the classroom. After a few minutes he came and walked me to my next class. We did this every period up until lunch. I only had to introduce myself in a few of the classes, others they just told me to take a seat. I did my best to try to catch up on the subject.

Maddox already established that I would be sitting with him and his friends. I've only seen them a few times around the house, I don't know them because every time I would run away and hide in my room. Heck I don't even know their names. 

I puff my cheeks out, making a huffing noise.

Maddox sighs, "I know you want to make your own friends Lilly, but dad will kill me!", he says.

"I don't trust anyone with you, they might use you."

"What do you mean use me?"

"Nothing to worry your head about."

We walk into the cafeteria, it's pretty spacious. Lots of tables scattered around everywhere. I look a little to the left and see a lurch line. I tug on Maddox's sleeve towards the line signaling that I want to get some food. 

"Hold on I want you to meet some of my friends first.". My breath starts to pick up. I don't really like talking to people. I've always been bad at it.

Three boys were sitting at the table, they all looked really tall and muscular. But there was one that caught my eye. He looked like the most muscular one there.

The guy almost looked like he was squished sitting at the table! Something happens that makes me want to run under a rock and cry. He locks eyes with me. They were a dark brown, almost black looking. Pretty.

I quickly look away.

"Who's the little cutie?", the guy with black hair asks. I look down and blush.

"This is my sister Liliana, and she's off limits if you don't want me to kick your as-" I cut Maddox by nudging him in the side, I hate it when he swears.

"Sorry Lily. Anyway that's Derrick."

He points to the guy with a big smile on his face. He has black hair and blue eyes, by the way he smiles I can tell he's a jokester or the class clown.

"Peter's over there.", I'm guessing he's the one with a weird stick thing coming out of his mouth and smoke coming out of it. He has brown hair and what looks like hazel eyes. Peter gives me a small nod. He seems nice and laid back 

"And that's Axel." My eyes meet again with his dark brown ones. Something is off about him but I cant put my finger on it. He had brown hair just like Peter's but a little lighter. Once I realized that I was looking at him for so long, I blushed and avert my gaze.

I tug at Maddox's shirt, "Can we eat now I'm hungry." I say quietly. Everyone but Axel laughs. He seems grumpy. Oh boy, I don't think he likes me. Maybe if I give him a cookie he will! Maddox and Papa say I make amazing cookies!
