Liliana's Innocence

I take a deep breath as I make my down the hallway to my brother's room I slowly raise my hand up and knock on the door. "M-maddy?", I say as I creep the door open. Maddox looks up and smiles,"What's wrong Lily?", I blush at my nickname.  "So, you k-know how Its a-almost school time..", he sighs already knowing where this conversation is going as we have had it many times before. "No Lily. You're not going to my school, its safer for you to be homeschooled. Plus Papa will never let you, its the best option for you to be even more successful.", I dont believe thats the reasons, but its what I've been told countless times before. I quietly whisper, "W-what about Mama?" I never knew her well, she passed away bringing me into the world. Papa says shes an Angel now always looking down on us. He always has this look of longing in his eyes when he talks about her, they loved each other so much. Maddox snaps his head around to me, "She would've wanted me to see the world! Go out and see if for myself! I'm a big girl now I d-deserve to know things!", I shout slightly raising my voice. He runs his fingers through his hair and signs knowing I'm not gonna let this go. "I'll talk to Papa about it Lily, but I can't make any promises. Now run along and get some more sleep, we'll talk more about it in the morning. I squeal quietly and hug my big brother. Running out of his room towards mine. After waking up and getting ready, I pick up one of the books from the self in my room and start it even though I've read it a billion times. "Lilliana!" I hear my Papa's deep voice shout from the living room suddenly.  I jump up and scurry out of my room as I slowly walk down the stairs, replaying the previous days in my head. Racking through to see if I did anything bad. Well I did eat the last cookie and hid the jar. Maybe he found it! Oh fudge sticks! I walked in the kitchen to see the two giants I call my family surrounding the island. Maddox almost looks identical to Papa, except the grey hair and eyes. I got Papa's grayish eyes. "Y-yes papa?", I asked with a nervous tone. "Come here.", he picked me up easily and placed me on the island. I squeak and gasp, I hate it when he does that. "Your brother told me what you two talked about last night,", Papa said looking down at me, "and I thought it threw. I'll allow you to go to your brothers school under a few conditions." I frantically nodded while squealing, "You must stay by your brother's side and no boys! I want you to get good grades and focus on school.". I giggle and jump up to hug him. "Thank you thank you thank you! You wont regret it, I'll be extra good!", I say bouncing back up the stairs back to my room. I try to get back to reading but I'm to excited. After a few failed attempts I just close the book and take a nap, dreaming about what school will be. "Lilly.", someone quietly say as they shake me "Nooo", I mumble out. "Lilliana it's your first day of school wake up!", Maddox shouts I shoot up from my bed, throwing the big pink comforter off of me and run past Maddy towards the bathroom. "Oh fudge cakes! I'm gonna be late!" "Just be down stairs soon!" Maddox says as he closes the door. I quickly brush teeth, also deciding not to do anything with my hair and keep it down. I rush out of my bathroom and into my closet to pick out an outfit. It's a pink and white plaid sundress that stops at my lower thigh, I match it with a little cardigan that's a deeper shade of pink, almost purple. "Wow! I look so pretty!", I say as I twirl in the mirror. I smoove down the dress to make sure there are no wrinkles. I smile one more time than I'm off. I grab my school bag off my bed and run downstairs. "Good morning papa.", I say as I give him a kiss on the cheek. "Good morning sweetie. Your brother is in the car outside, be careful and make some nice friends. Preferably girl ones!", I giggle and hug him goodbye bye. I sprint out of the house and climb into my brother's big truck, it took me a while to get used to that. I look up at my brother and smile as we drive to the school.
