After a couple of hours, they were climbing the boat on the yacht port and driving off to enjoy the day. He had to get to know her before his father get his hands on her and she finish somewhere murdered or worse. He suffered enough of his cruelty over his whole life and this time he was not getting him anywhere near her. Deep down inside he was hoping that she is not the person he is looking for because that would mean her running for her life. He was attracted to her that he knew, that was the reason he was so protective, but something else inside of him was feeling different, something that he couldn’t explain himself.
‘Deep down in thoughts, aren’t you?’ - he heard Sabrina's voice behind him, and he turned around. She was wearing a red brazilian bikini set with knots wrapped around her belly. God, she got the body! He traced her curves, unable to say a word back. - ‘Are you gonna’ stand there cockin’ or you’re coming?’ - she joked.
‘Coming wear?’ - he asked her, confused. She looked at him playfully and jumped from the boat. - ‘Are you f*****g crazy?’ - he yelled after her after she just jumped of a moving f*****g boat. He quickly ran to stop the boat’s engine.
‘Are you coming or not?’ - she yelled seriously and started swimming around.
‘Hell yeah, I do!’ - he threw his shirt down and jumped in the water. He swam near her and grabbed her from the back. She screamed. - ‘You got some guts, sweetness.’ - he turned her around so she could face him. She was all wet and beautiful. He moved a piece of hair falling on her face as she stared at him unable to move. He leaned closer to her lips, but then stopped. She trembled and raised her sight at him. Yes, he wanted her s****l and passionate, but that was not all of it.
He had seen her only a few times, but it felt like he knew her forever. For her it didn’t feel any different. She was a person who had never let someone so close to her. She always kept her guard up and never in her life she had given such closeness to someone she knew nothing about. What they did last night was impulsive and primitive. They gave themselves into the pleasure without knowing each other but neither of them regretted it because it felt like they both needed such intimacy.
‘Catch me if you can.’ - she suddenly pulled away from him and started swimming around.
‘Don’t tempt me beautiful.’ - he joked.
‘What is it all the time you think about?’ - she snapped out of nowhere.
‘What do you mean? - he asked, surprised by her question.
‘Every time you are alone you look like you are somewhere deep in thoughts’ - she said back.
‘Curious much?’ - he giggled at her.
‘Just trying to figure you out.’ - she stared at him thoughtfully.
‘How so?’ - he answered again with a question.
‘Don’t give me the question answers to slip away.’ - his answers confused her even more. She was wondering what it is in him that so much intrigued her or what was he hiding.
‘Not harshly, sweetness.’ - he grabbed her waist and in seconds her face was in millimetres of his. His hand moved to caressed her cheek and she closed her eyes from the feeling of his touch. - ‘What is it you doing to me?’ - he moved his thumb on her lower lip as he moved it until her both lips split apart, a second later her soft lips met his and a passionate kiss followed as they couldn’t get enough of each other.
The darkness of the night was getting slowly into them, and they had to get back to the city but before that he had dinner prepared for them on the boat. Sabrina came out all shiny and beautiful as the wind blew her hair around. She was wearing a black flawless dress. Her scent flied around and hit his senses. It really suited her. She was all vanilla and s*x. He remembered last night when he was leaving traces of his desire for her on her body and how she was moaning for him. He wanted her more than he ever wanted somebody else in his life that scared him. He gave her a rose and kissed her cheek. He invited her to the table and poured us a glass of wine.
‘Thank you’. - she suddenly said to him.
‘For?’ - he asked her, confused.
‘Everything. I had such a great time’ - she smiled.
‘There is more to come’ - he answered but even he was not sure that would be possible. Thankfully she looked aside to the sunset, ignoring his statement. - ‘It is beautiful, isn’t it?’ - she nodded. Her eyes were full of joy.
The evening was just ahead of them as they were drinking wine and talking. It was soon to become midnight but none of them felt the time passing so quickly. He was surprised by her intelligent way to answer all his questions and she had for the first time in her life felt free and opened herself to communicate with someone.
‘What about your family?’ - Ryan started as he was determined to find out more about her.
‘There is nothing interesting.’ - she simply snapped and tried changing the subject.
‘I could see you getting frustrated whenever I asked you about your family. So, what is it?’ - he kept pushing her.
‘Then clearly, I don’t wanna’ talk about it.’ - she put her glass of wine down angrily and stood up from the table and headed to the end of the boat. She stood there staring at the deep dark sea and a single tear fell on her cheek.
‘I apologize.’ - Ryan showed up behind her. He leaned down and kissed her shoulder. - ‘I didn’t mean to push you.’ - he noticed the tear slipping down her cheek. - ‘Hey!’ - he turned her around and she moved her head aside. - ‘Don’t hide your tears from me. I am so sorry for making you cry. It was none of my intentions.’
‘It is not you.’ - she quickly removed the tear from her cheek.
‘That day in the hospital...’ - she paused. - ‘My mother died.’ - she signed and stared at the stars. It was so hard for her to say it. Another tear rolled down her cheek. - ‘I don’t even know why I am saying that to you.’ - she shaked her head like she was ashamed.
‘I know.’ - he shot, and she moved his eyes so she could meet his.
‘What!?’ - she asked, confused. - ‘How did you possibly...’
‘I heard the doctor when I was leaving that day.’ - he said in a calm tone. - ‘And please do tell me everything that is on your mind’ - he touched her cheek.
‘Oh... - she looked back at the stars again. Perhaps this was the reason for his constant questions. - ‘My family has always been messed up.’
‘How so?’ - he asked her.
‘It never felt right.’ - she stopped for a second. - ‘I had always had the feeling that a significant part of my life is missing.’
‘You think you are adopted.’ - he suddenly snapped.
‘What?’ - she paused and looked at him. She was wondering how he could come up with such a suggestion. - ‘No, I am a doctor. Remember? I would know if I was adopted.’
‘Have you ever run a DNA test?’ - he continued asking.
‘No! Okay you are seriously creeping me out here!’ - she lifted her both hands in his chest to give him a sign to move away from her.
‘I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. I was just trying to figure out...’ - he paused.
‘Figure out what?’ - she asked suspiciously. He froze of his stupidity. How he could be such an i***t. He almost disclosed himself in front of her. Few seconds later and it would be all over for her.
‘You!’ - he replied, trying to walk out of the situation he himself created.
‘There is nothing to figure out in me.’ - she smiled. - ‘I am an open book.’
‘I sincerely doubt that sweetness’ - he leaned down and kissed her soft lips.
At that moment a shooting star flew over them and at the same time they both wished this fairy tale. The rest of the night they spent on the bow of the boat, watching the stars and talking. He was a stranger in a way, but she felt like she could trust him. The way he touched her, the way he kissed her, felt so real. He felt so real. Everything felt so nice that if it was a dream, she wished she would never wake up. Only one perfect day with him, that was what it took for her soul to dance in happiness. She tried ignoring all her anxious thoughts and there it was her happy place. She knew nothing about it, but God it felt so good and so real. He was her lifeline. In some moments in your life, you randomly meet a stranger who turns out to be the person you most need in your life in a matter of days. Your auras are attracted to one another and there is nothing on this earth that can separate you after that. You both belong to each other in a way normal people would not understand. It was yet for her to find out the true meaning of the word ‘pain'.
When the boat stopped on the Yacht port Sabrina noticed Ryan’s hand straightened in front of her waiting for her to take it as she was trying to climb out of the boat. It was around 1 am in the morning as Ryan’s driver pulled the car next to Sabrina’s place.
‘I’ll see you soon, sweetness.’ - Ryan said as his hand traced the way up to her cheek. She closed her eyes to enjoy the feeling of his touch. She had only seen him a few times and yet she was falling for him that fast that it scared her. She opened her eyes with a pale face as she got suddenly so scared of all this closeness. To have s*x with a person is one thing. You can always walk away, but to have that connection with somebody for such a short time it suddenly wasn’t something she shouldn’t be worried about. Just when Ryan noticed her frustration and was about to ask her what's wrong the driver opened the back door for her to walk out.
‘Good evening.’ - she simply said with a small smile and walked out of the car without looking back at him.
She was so overwhelmed by the time she spent with him and at the same time so confused, but something else was slowly crawling in her mind. She considered the few possibilities for her so quick connection with him. Was it the fact that her mom died that she so desperately needed a distraction, and he was around? She was scared to answer that question. Does her pain go away when he is around? It certainly did, but she couldn’t say for sure was it him the reason or was it just her trying to run away from the pain again.
She walked into the apartment passing by the picture of her and her parents. And then she suddenly stopped! ‘You think you are adopted?’ - Ryan’s question echoed in her head and she suddenly felt dizzy. The picture slipped through her hand and broke down on the floor.
‘s**t!’ - she kneeled and took the photo out of the frame. She stared at it for a moment, but there was not a single tear slipping from her eyes. The truth was she never in those 28 years had the courage to make a DNA test. Ryan’s question only reminded her how afraid she was to find out the truth, so she just let it be. If you asked a person, you would hear her being strong, independent, hard-working and successful, but only in those rare moments when she thinks about her messed up life you could really say how devastated she is from the unknown.
