Full moon Eve

915 Words
My eyes opened to the blinding sunlight. I squint, feeling an ache in my back as I moved away from the wall. I had fallen asleep on the floor last night with my back on the wall which wasn't very comfortable. I stood and stretched, catching sight of the window I had left open in hopes that the prince would still come for me. I shook my head to let the thoughts out then went ahead to wash and dress for the day. Two Omega maids were waiting for me when I finished. One with complete blond hair and the other, having pink strands everywhere which was beautiful. "Morning Miss" they both greeted. I threw a nod at them, confused "Where's Gwen?" "She ordered that we assisted you while she answered to princess Lena who asked for her" I had a really bad gut feeling about that princess Lena but it wasn't like I could do anything. "I'm Lola" said the Blondie "And this is Leah" "Twins?" I coc.ked a brow and they both nod. They didn't look anything alike apart from their hair colour. "I would like to take a walk round the palace" I announced, ready to look for that lying prince, he made me wait in vain for him. They looked at each other in hesitation, so I asked if there was a problem, last I know I was allowed to roam the palace walls. "We were ordered that you shouldn't be left alone" "By who?" "The king, miss" That devil... "Sure, you can both come with me, I feel too stuffy in here" They agreed after failing to come up with other ways to stop me. My legs were aching, I have practically searched every corner of the palace for the prince but he was nowhere in sight, "Is there something or someone in particular you are looking for?" One of the twin asked, they looked as exhausted as I was after following me about all day. I shouldn't ask them about the prince in case they were spies for the devil but I didn't have anymore patience. I have noticed the disapproval on almost each werewolf I had come across, they looked at me with disgust and as much as I also disliked them I knew in no time they would begin to protest, even if I was supposedly the King's mate it doesn't mean I would be shown any mercy, I needed to act first. "Looking for me?" There the prince was, looking at me with a crooked smile, I didn't even hide the fact that I indeed was, as I scooped my gown up and sprinted towards him. "You ditched me" I glared at him, my eyes full of accusation. "Careful there, someone might think you have fallen for me and not my brother and maybe... report it" I looked around and indeed, there were a few maids who stared at me with disapproval. Even the twins stared confusedly at me. "Why didn't you come?" I asked, ignoring everyone else. "Something urgent came up" he's eyes looked around suspiciously,"Besides, weren't you informed what today is?" "What is today?" "It's the eve of the full moon" I was super confused, the king had told me earlier about going to attend a meeting that happens every full moon, but I didn't know what this full moon is. "Come, we don't have time if we are going to meet her now" My eyes widened, "We can go into the dungeons by this time? Isn't it guarded?" I whispered, careful so the maids behind wouldn't hear. "Do you think I'm only a prince in name" He answered with a sneer. He waved a hand at the twin maids, who backed away but not entirely. They had fear and hesitation in their eyes and I felt bad to put them in such scuffle. "The king ordered that they shouldn't let me out of their sight" The prince only dragged me with him, I quickly mouthed an apology to them. We passed through different walls, taking so many detours but I still made sure to memorize the route. Just in case I needed to come back myself one day. I didn't know how, but they weren't any guards in sight so far and when we got to the entrance and there was still no warriors in sight I was sure the prince had a hand on them. The familiar nostalgia of the cell made its way into my nose. I tried my best not to throw up and to ignore the intense smell I once used to be embraced in, I avoided looking Into any of the cells, didn't want to see the hope in any of the prisoner's eyes. We passed by my former cell and it now had another host, a pale and fragile looking woman, she was werewolf too. I wondered what crime she committed, but my thoughts came to a halt when we stopped in a rusty cell, no not a cell. More like A cage. It was so freaking tiny. An old frail woman sat in there, she looked no less than eighty five years. Her eyes were closed, while she maintained a mediating posture. The prince knocked thrice, a pair of dirty yellowish eyes opened to stare back at us. No, at me. The prince stepped back his lips curled in apprehension. I slowly walked closer to the cage, I swallowed when my throat suddenly felt parched. "H-hello"
