Deciding

Walking to Hugo’s car, Elliot was mentally kicking himself because he had fallen into a trap Adela prepared him for. “Hugo, she drugged me! Like full on love potion drugged me. How would she even get her hands on something that illegal. She then said because I saw her glow that I must have feelings for her” Hugo just kept laughing “Magick should be left to the witches, but it is puzzling where she got that contraband from” Elliot had fifty missed calls from his boss and a couple from Margrette “How did she find my number? Why on earth would Margrette call me?” Everything confused him and he didn’t know where to start to tackle his problems. There were so many. If the call pertained Adela he was going to call her first “Margrette” he heard her sigh as she picked up the phone call “Elliot, have you spoken to Adela recently? I saw you at the funeral event. Do not lie to me” he just rolled his eyes “No, Margrette I didn’t speak with Dela. Your friend drugged me before I had the chance. However you got her the potion, tell the person who made it that they’re a quack and could kill somebo..” Margrette cut him off “Adela and Brandon are missing and presumably have ran away, as they are both adults I cannot force them to come home. However it’s an evil thing to run away from their mother. I’m heartbroken” he felt like hanging up. She beat on both of them, and didn’t try to hide the bruises she gave them but somehow she’s heart broken. “If they left then there was a reason for leaving. As you said they’re both adults and its possible they felt you were going to try to scheme against them since the Elder is now dead” and with that he hung up the phone. An even bigger problem now. Where did Adela go? And what was the reasoning she left? Hugo was just as disturbed by this as Elliot was. “Man, it’s one thing after another. Let’s just go get something to eat and then we can figure out our next move. Hopefully I still have my job. How am I supposed to explain the reasoning behind not talking to them for a week?” He was growing a headache “Okay, Okay. Let’s go get a burger and then we can work through the issues. I’m here to help. Also if you ever need a job, I have an auto shop down in Louisiana. You could just relocate there” Hugo than parked his car into a diner. Sitting down in the farthest booth “I might have to take you up on that offer, there isn’t a way to explain my way out of this without alerting the Hunter’s Association. Savannah is harmless and did something stupid. She doesn’t need to be imprisoned for that” he literally scarfed down his burger and began shoveling fries into his mouth. Hugo was made aware of Adela and Brandon’s escape and had called out to Jessie to find them. He didn’t want to tell Elliot anything until he had definitive evidence. As long as they weren’t in Margrette’s grasp anymore. “Elliot, I’m thinking we should travel back to your place in California and then once you’re in a comfortable place you can plan your next move. I can have my employees run the shop until I come back. But I still would like you to come back with me. Jessie would too. Did you still want more to eat?” Hugo couldn’t help but look at Elliot like a son, he had to be care because his cover could be blown in an instant. His body was badly burned but his mannerisms were the same. Jessie was his best friend and the only person who knew he was actually still alive. Hugo wanted to take Margrette down by himself for revenge but Jessie helped him see that he shouldn’t do it for revenge but for the safety of his children. What matter most to him were Adela and Brandon. Hugo would cry for them because he could only watch them grow up from afar. He hated Margrette for taking them from him. It still lit a burning hatred for her in his heart. Elliot was reminded of the first time he met Jessie, he felt that although he never met him before he was still familiar to him. His face reminded him of the past and it stirred up feelings of loss which confused him. “You said that you’d explain who Jessie was, Hugo. When will you do that? There is something about him that but I cannot place the feeling. It’s like I know him” Hugo just laughed. Both him and Adela were hotheaded and impatient. “In due time, don’t worry. Let’s hit the road, hopefully we can catch a flight in time” Elliot just sighed, his life was never normal. No matter how hard he tried. After leaving Adela, it was a godsend meeting Hugo however strange the meeting came to be. He was like a dad to him and looked out for him for the past four years. He decided to go with him to Louisiana because it’d be bette to team up with him and Jessie to find Adela and Brandon that way.     Making their way to the airport and luckily there was a flight that would depart to California in under two hours. Enough time to go through security and rest a tiny bit. The entire flight back both Elliot and Hugo were lost in their own thoughts. Elliot wished he could have come to Adela much sooner but he was too chickenshit. He didn’t think she’d accept the apology and have understanding that he made a decision out of shame and fear. He wished he could find a way to make her understand that he had been too young to see past his own ego. How could he let four years pass? He still felt ashamed he really didn’t know why she wanted to go back. He still had dreams of what their life would be like if they were together. Elliot wondered if he could convince Adela that they can still be together and he could provide a much healthier foundation for her now that he’s a little older. He could provide a foundation for Brandon too. He missed both of them dearly. They were who he was close to ever since he was little and it was Adela who helped him with the loss of his parents when they died in fire. Elliot knows he wants kids but would Adela? He began to stress if that Adela did want kids but just not with him. “Great, now I wont be able to sleep” Elliot mumbled to himself. He just hoped that wherever Adela and Brandon found themselves, that they were safe. He didn’t know what Margrette was after but he knows Adela does. Could it have been money? “Elliot, I think you should be aware of how Elder Victor died” Elliot gulped “okay…” Hugo sighed and began to think of how his father died in agony the same way his best friends died. “He and Adela were caught in a fire. The fire was caused by an explosion of one of the generators in the basement that shouldn’t have been running. The explosion caused a pillar to fall on them and it took all but five minutes for the fire to spread through the house. The pillar knocked Adela and trapped them both but the Elder still had strength left and teleported Adela outside” Elliot was wide eyed “How did you find this out?!” Elliot couldn’t believe he wasn’t made aware of any of this. Elder victor was a big part of his life after his parents death. “Elder Victor was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead and Adela was in a coma after being hit on her head” Hugo could’ve lost both his child and father at the same time, but was grateful his father used the last of his strength to save Adela. Elliot was quiet for the remainder of the flight. Hugo’s words winded him because he spent these past four years living as if he had nothing to lose anymore. Adela could’ve died and the day she got hurt he was probably oblivious and living his life as if everything was normal. He almost lost everything and he didn’t even know he could have. He had so many questions but no where to start. Hugo could see what he told Elliot had an effect on him. He felt sorry for telling him, but he knew if Elliot found out from Adela or Brandon he would become murderous. Hugo knew exactly who sabotaged the generators as did Jessie but they had to be patient. Hugo couldn’t wait until he could reveal his true. Identity
