I've Always Been Yours

Chapter 8

Hayden and Mac officially left a week ago and with his workouts and class schedules he makes sure he calls but you can see it in his face during calls that he's exhausted and I feel bad.

I finished getting my dorm stuff and getting my books ready for me to study for test out courses. I start my classes in two weeks so I'll be moving down here soon. Then we'll be an hour apart but it feels like forever and I don't have Aria anymore but I hope my roommate and I click.

I've been spending a lot of time with all the girls shopping, having lunches and movie nights before we all go off to school. Aria and I have been together most days and since Mac hasn't been able to go I've been to the doctors with her this time. She's excited to be pregnant and Mac has been visiting virtually for her appointments.

As the days come and go. Me and Aria made our way to visit Hayden and Mac a few times which made me excited! It was my weekend to visit with them since I leave next weekend for school. I miss Hayden a lot but he seems like he's enjoying his time so far.

I had dinner with both mine and Hayden's parents the night before I had to leave. Dad helped me load up my car with my boxes and I waited for Hayden's FaceTime.

Talking to Hayden made me cry again. I told him about my insecurities. How I was scared he'd find someone else while we were both away from each other and I didn't want to lose him as my boyfriend or my best friend. I laughed when he told me we were "end game."

Leaving for school the next day as I drove to the dorms dad and mom followed to help me unload my car. Aria rode along with me and we jammed out and snacked on the way down.

Once we got to our door room we met with the RA and got my room number and my roommates name. As I head to room 104 and it looks like I'm the first one here so we start to unpack and organize my section of the room and bathroom.

We paid for a semi private room so I could room with Aria and we'd have our own bathroom. Next year I may swap to a full private room cause Dad said I could.

After I'm all settled in and mom, dad and Aria leave I shoot Hayden a message with all my dorm information and address. Before I left home I shipped Hayden a box of goodies and a note of encouragement.

As I lay down on my bed scrolling through my f*******: account I creep Hayden's profile and update my photo of one we took our last weekend together with a #imissyoualready.

I must have dozed off when I heard my phone ringing. I glimpsed up and saw Hayden calling me so I smiled when I answered the video chat.

VIDEO CHAT:

H- hello beautiful. sorry we just got out of practice we're you busy baby.

K- Hey handsome. no baby I was browsing f*******: and I must have dozed off a little bit.

H- did you get unpacked?

K- Yeah. Still waiting on my roommate to show up tho. I was updating my f*******: stuff.

H- (smirking) I know I saw that baby. I loved it and I commented on it already. I miss you too sweetheart. did you see my new stuff?

K- nope I didn't get but I'll be sure to look once we hang up! (winking at him)

H- I got another practice soon. when do you have your first test out class.

K- tomorrow morning about 8:30 am. I'm booked with classes from 8:30-3:30 with test out tests and each exam is 45 minutes. So I may not be able to respond much tomorrow baby.

H- shoot me texts throughout the day and we'll respond to each other when we can. I gotta head to warm ups baby.

K- I wish you didn't have to go already baby. I miss you. Just got to make it through and I'll see you at Thanksgiving for sure right baby.

H- of course beautiful but I'll be sure to see you before then. I love you baby. Good luck tomorrow.

K- thanks babe. have a good practice shoot me a text when your home so I know your safe love. I love you baby. I think my roommate just got here anyway.

disconnecting the video chat as my roommate Ember comes in. Saying hello to Ember and asking if she needs help unloading and unpacking. We chat with each other, I help her unpack, we discuss our classes and majors and decide to go out for a walk around the campus and try to find somewhere to eat.

Ember has a boyfriend who came to school here with her. I told her all about Hayden and Aria but it seemed like we'd become fast friends. We met up with Embers boyfriend Levi and a few of his friends and his roommate Cameron. They seem like they should be good people.

I ask Ember if I can take a selfie with her so I can send it to Hayden as I'm excited. Smiling with me Levi takes our picture and I send it to Hayden with a text about hanging out with Ember and her boyfriend Levi. I told him a few of Levi's roommates and friends were also with us because I wanted to keep an open and honest relationship.

Once we're back in our dorm room with Chinese food Ember and I settle into watch a movie since we both have early morning classes.

About 10 pm I get a text back from Hayden telling me he was sorry he went out with a few guys after practice and Sierra ended up showing up so he dipped out back to his room with Mac but Aria was upset about Sierra so he wanted to make sure I knew nothing was happening and they left as soon as she arrived.

Getting nervous, Hayden must have sensed it because he ended up video chatting me to say good night, meet Ember and tell me not to be upset I had nothing to worry about.

I think to myself after hanging up I may not have to worry about Sierra but there are plenty of others like her i do need to worry about.

Drifting off to sleep I dream about Hayden meeting someone else, him living out our dreams with someone else and I wake up from my nightmares and have trouble falling back to sleep.

When our alarms go off in the morning I groaned. Shooting a good morning I love you text to Hayden when I noticed he sent me a good morning beautiful text before his morning workouts.

I head to my first class. We'd know in a few days which classes we test out of before they finalize our schedules for the week.

Between classes and tests I text back to Hayden and Aria. Ember meets up with me after our last texts and asks me if I want to go to dinner with her, Levi and his roommate Cameron.

Once I agreed to dinner I messaged Hayden that I was going out to dinner with them i would let him know when I was back for our video chat if he was available.
