“Move your behinds, we have work to do”
Mum visibly relaxes as I ignore the burning desire in my chest, I was desperate to know what they were up to but I hated putting anyone in the middle, especially my mum.
The boys join us and mum takes us home, leaving immediately just as Jaxon comes from the office with boxes
“Good your home, boys go lift the boxes and bring them to the car and be careful because I will kick your asses if anything falls out of place”
Jaxon snaps at them, they scurry off like good little mice, terrified of the wrath of my ocd pops
“Do you know where dad is?”
I ask him casually, he purges his lips looks to the roof and walks towards the kitchen
“I have no idea”
“Such a big fat liar! He’s worse than a 2-year-old!”
Karma snaps
“Why does it look like you do know but you're not telling me for some reason?”
“What?”
He asks freezing slightly
“I have no idea what you're talking about, coffee?”
I zero my eyes in on him
“You big fat liar! Tell me what’s going on”
I attempt to grab him so I could read him, but he squeaks jumping from my path
“I don’t know what you're talking about”
He calls again
“If that’s true why are you jumping away from me”
He scratches the back of his head
“Oh you know, I was thinking of your nana n***d, I didn’t want to scar you”
“I saw nana n***d before”
“Oh? When? That’s very interesting. Anyway, Scott was there too and they were doing despicable things to each other and I just can’t get it out of my head”
He lifts his arm, tapping his wrist where It held no watch
“Oh look at the time, ahh I better go, we can have coffee another time. Love you, sweety”
He rushes out the door like a greyhound
“Damn he can run for an old fart”
I blow out a puff of air in frustration
“What are they doing that has them all lying to us”
“I don’t know but it better be good or this will be seriously anticlimactic and I’ll kill someone”
She said in a bored monotone voice as she files her nails with a fake file in my head, taking a seat and putting her feet up.
“Why do you do that?”
“Do what?”
She asks
“That, file your nails, put your feet up?”
“Well, why do you do that stuff?”
She asks me, I shrug
“Because I have to and because I want to relax”
she nods her head
“See same thing, it might not be doing anything in the real world but our brain is like a world of our own. When we were kids and we went into the world of our creation, when we figured it out we had books and played instruments, they all felt real didn’t they?”
I nod as she continues
“Well it’s the same thing, in here is our little world and doing things like this helps me relax when we are both stressed because we are”
She growls the last bit, clearly annoyed that they were taking so long.
“That’s kind of cool, I wish we could get into other people's heads, and see if they work the same way”
She groans
“Your such a nerd”
“What it’s interesting”
“You need to find a community of nerds that you can connect with so you stop boring me to death, jez your smart, we get it, now it’s time to get over it”
I flip her the bird
“Stop being such a d**k!”
She shrugs
“You say d**k and I say it’s the ugly truth”
“Oh I love that movie”
I say remembering it and ignoring our fight
“Let’s watch it while we wait, we don’t have any work to do anyway, it was just an excuse to get out of the shopping spree early”
I nod, plopping down on the sofa, pulling my boots off and resting my feet on mums coffee table, karma whistles
“Your guna be in so much trouble when mum realises what you have done”
She pushes toward me eagerly wanting me to get in trouble
“She won’t know, my shoes are off”
“Oh she will know, she always b****y knows, how? I haven’t figured that out yet but for a small woman mum is terrifying, way worse than nana”
A shiver runs down my spine at the thought of mum losing her s**t over her table so I calmly pull my feet off it then I use my T-shirt to remove any smudges from it.
“Good enough?”
She clicks her tongue shaking her head
“Nope she will know”
I roll my eyes and redo it
“Now?”
She groans shaking her head
“No, she will know, you know what while you do that I’ll watch the movie, now could you be a dear and go grab some popcorn”
She sighs putting her feet up in my head in a room that was a replica of the room we are standing in.
“Go get your own popcorn,”
Then I click my fingers shaking my head
“you know what I’m throwing you under the bus this is just painful”
I tell her, giving up on polishing the table and taking a seat so I could relax. I lift the remote and press play, just as my phone beeps.

(Katy) I’m not getting married? But the ceremony is next week!’
(Eva) wedding or no wedding we are celebrating! Let’s have a dirty weekend at the beach! Pleaseeee
(Daisy) I’m so in!
(Heartly) I don’t care, as long as the boys can stay, we are at the beach for a week anyway!
(Cain) and me! Girl trip or not I’m in!”
(Katy) fine let’s do it, but I need to figure out when, ok?
(Heartly) woohoo! I’m so freaking excited to see all your faces! Toddle’s bitches”

I drop my phone shaking my head at my crazy cousins, I say cousins but they were like my siblings and up until they all got mated they were my life. They stuck by me through it all and I’ll always miss them. Life won’t ever be the same as what it’s like when we are all together.
I look back to the movie, getting comfortable but my eyes instantly go sleepy as I watch the screen. I couldn’t stay awake through a movie unless it was star wars and sometimes even that was a challenge.
I wouldn’t stay asleep so that’s why I chose to drink instead, plus my brain does this weird thing that listens to music and voices and movies in my head so when I fall asleep I become a member of my movie, it’s the same movie but it’s based around our lives. Then I’d wake up and realise we were only asleep for a few moments instead of hours.
