Camilla's POV I need to go job hunting am almost 20 I can't depend on mama she has to much on her hands it's tourist season anyway plenty of jobs in our small town bacalar it's beautiful and sturning. I can't let mama know am looking for a job she is so protective of me and my sister Carmen since the death of my brother Fernando who died in the hands of a drug cartel in Mexico city 2years ago papa got a stroke and is paralyzed now mama is still broken from the lose . We ran away from the only place we knew friends and family all we lost touch with them incase the cartel wanted to track us down. Mama am head to the market want to me get you anything "no mi amor we have everything we need and don't stay out to late you never know who is watching" shouted mama from the kitchen as I headed out "okay mama" I said "camilla" yes mama I responded while opening the door behind me. Not knowing what she was going to ask. "why are you going to the market camilla do you need anything I will get it for after I come from work" . I answered her quickly "no mama I just want to get somethings I don't want to burden you I will be back before you go to work so I Can watch dad." okay mi amor be careful ". After just a few steps I hear Carmen "Camilla wait where are you going let me join you mama said I can" what about papa "I said glaring at her" me telling myself what if she tells mama am looking for a job and I can't turn her away. She will know am doing something else I quickly came up with a plan on how am going to keep her busy for 2hours she loves collecting sea shells but she never gets a chance to I told to go collect sea shells and I will meet her by the beach in less than 2hours. "really sis and what will we tell mom. you how she gets when she finds we are going to the beach. Remembering last time I took her to the beach and we saw one of the cartel members they are still looking for us we can't risk. Don't worry she will never know we need to help make ends meet we won't take long. Yes "where are you gonna work" she asked I looked so lost not knowing where to start. I saw a sea food restaurant I looked to her and said here with an awkward laugh let's go inside. I headed straight to the counter and asked for the manager the lady said she is the manager. I greeted nervously. "hi and can I help you" said valentina . "she smiled looking at me" yes we have a waitress position open she said if you are interested. Yes! " without thinking twice" how much are paying "I asked nervously" we pay 15 pesos per hour and when can you start you know it's busy season " tomorrow what time can I come I said excitedly." I can't believe I got a job and I didn't need to look around a lot " valentina said 10:00 in the morning and we will discuss the rest" I thanked her as I left. "See you tomorrow" she said
