Chapter 15

Lilian: Once we reached some distance away from home, I finally came back to my senses and the first thing I did was shove Diana's hand off. I knew it was neither ladylike nor polite for me to act this way, but first of all, I had never thought of myself as particularly ladylike, to begin with, and there was no point in being polite to someone who possibly harbored bad intentions toward me. "Goodness, you're nothing like I thought you would be." Diana seemed unfazed by my rude behavior and continued eyeing me with a smile. I stepped back cautiously, putting some distance between the two of us before asking with hostility, "Miss Diana, what is it you want from me exactly?" Even though she seemed gentle and harmless on the surface, I definitely did not believe that she was as harmless as she appeared. The fact that she had purposefully approached my mother and sought me out that way was proof of that. Sure enough, birds of a feather flock together. I had no doubt that that man chose her to be his fiancée. They both had characters that were completely unfitting with their appearances. For that, I proclaimed them a perfect couple. Diana brushed the lock of loose hair around her face behind her ear, her expression unchanged and her voice as sweet as before. "There's no need to be so hostile toward me. I know that you used to be my fiancé's partner in bed, but I am the one marrying him now, so I am the ultimate beneficiary. I won't do anything to you. After all, you’re the past, and I’m the future." My heart plummeted to the ground once I heard what she had said. It was just as I had guessed. This woman was here for me, and she knew what I did with that man in the past. Arthur, you bastard! You threatened me not to tell anyone, especially not your precious fiancée, about our relationship, yet you let her loose to make a scene in front of me? Do you have any integrity at all as the Wolf King? My anger had almost reached a peak at this moment. It was too much, simply too much. Just as I was about to blow up on her, Diana suddenly said, "I came today purely out of curiosity to see what kind of woman it was who stayed by his side for the past three years. I'm not here to show off, I'm merely curious." I sneered. "Curious about what? Curious about how good your fiancé is in bed? Curious about what sorts of positions he prefers in the bedroom?" I did not believe this woman in the slightest. If she had no malice nor purpose, she would not have tried to approach my mother like that and come all the way to my house, dragging me out of the comfort of my own home. I could not be sure whether a high-class woman had any escorts hiding around, so fighting her was definitely off the menu. Besides, who could I beat in a fight with my limp Omega limbs, anyway? That did not stop me from barking in her face, however. What was a pampered young miss going to do about me in a verbal fight? As expected, the smile evaporated from Diana's face when she heard my crude words, replaced by a look of disapproval. She chastised me, "Miss Lilian! How could a lady say such a thing?" "My apologies but I'm no lady. Didn't you say it yourself? I'm supposed to be your fiancé's partner in bed. Can you really consider a woman who's willing to sleep with a man outside of love a lady? What an absolute compliment, Miss Diana." I winked at her on purpose and ruffled my long red hair. Come on! Are you disgusted yet? Quite clearly, I had succeeded in pissing Diana off. Her face was pale and her chest was heaving. She pointed at me with her finger as if she was going to rebuke me, but she quickly put her hand down as if she had given up on the herculean task. Tsk tsk, a lady of such good standing could not possibly throw around dirty insults like "slut", could they? Just as I was thinking up more ways to turn her stomach, she suddenly said, "Forget it. Perhaps my presence makes you uncomfortable, and that’s why you hold such great hostility toward me, but please do believe me when I say that I hold nothing against you." She seemed sincere enough, which just confused me. For a moment, I had no idea whether I should say that she was well-bred or just too naive. As someone who had never spoken to a rich young lady before, even I myself was confused. Diana did not say anything else after that. She just looked at me with such sincere eyes that I was at a loss for words, worrying about whether or not I had been too harsh just now. Oh, God... I would rather go and fight with a Beta than deal with a young lady like her any longer than this. I truly was confused by her conflicting reactions. After a long time, I sighed somewhat helplessly and massaged my brow. Putting away my hostility, I said, almost giving up, "All right, Miss Diana, I'll believe you. However, what do you stand to gain by approaching my mother and dragging me all the way out here?" Could she really be curious about the s****l prowess of her to-be husband, the Wolf King? I did not think that I was smart enough to guess what her true intentions were. The gentle smile returned to Diana's pretty face. "I just wanted to see what kind of woman it was who he kept by his side for three years. After all, you were the woman who has been with him the longest as far as I knew, so I guessed that he must be quite fond of you. So, I figured that I could learn what sort of woman he was interested in through getting to know you." I was stunned. He fancied me? Was I supposed to believe that that ice cube actually fancied me? Hah! That was the funniest thing I had heard all my life. I wasted three years on that stiff bastard because I needed the money. If it were any shorter than three years, he probably thought that it was just a waste of money to bring me into employment. There was nothing related to preference as this young woman would like to believe. To think of working out a man's taste through his choice of s*x partners... should I call her smart or should I call her stupid? Can a s*x partner and a wife truly be compared? Looking at Diana's pure eyes, I felt bad for her. How could this naive young girl be any match for that unfathomable ice cube? She would surely have to suffer in the future. That had nothing to do with me, though. I could be nice, but I was no saint. There was no need for me to get involved in someone else's life. "Miss Diana, I think you're overthinking it. Even though I may in fact be his longest partner to date, that does not mean that I know what he likes. Moreover, our relationship was purely business. He paid me money, I offered my body. That's all there was to it. If you're truly curious to know what sort of woman your fiancé fancies, then I suggest you ask him yourself."
