NICHOLAS
I squeezed my eyes shut. My pupils hurt, my skin burned, and my lungs worked very hard, although my heart had long been dead.
"That's why I already told you…You should have tried her, tasted her, claimed her before those dogs did…Dogs have a high libido, you know…They could be f*****g her right now and—" I tore the curtain open, letting sunlight in.
The voice inside me screamed, and I swore as the sun burned and hurt my bones.
"Just f**k it if it hurts and is killing me, I just want everything to stop," I thought as my eyes rolled back and my head got dizzier. Breathing was getting harder by now, and I could feel my ribcage burn as my chest kept rising and falling, but I didn't care. For a long time, I avoided death, but I welcomed it now.
I was kinda curious about a vampire's death after all.
"Okayyy, we already got the diagnosis and another prescription," Nathan said, closing the curtain again, making the beast inside me huff. "And also, don't think about suicide, Nicholas. Your sister is still a 97-year-old vampire. You don't intend to leave her now, do you?"
"No, of course not," I lied, although I knew Nathan could read my mind. It's his power after all, just like mine with 'erasing'.
"He doesn't know yet that I can read minds too," I chuckled, remembering his imagination of naked girls. Despite his tough exterior, Nathan turned out to be quite perverted. Sometimes, he can even imagine naked girls and guys playing pinata.
The only one I don't know is Trixie. But let's just hope it's not mind reading too, or else I'll lose the fun…
"Oh, yeah, Nicho…There's something I want to tell you about the blood moon."
"Blood moon? What about that moon?" I asked, adjusting the nebulizer as it kept slipping from my bony cheek. As far as I remembered, the blood moon was the night when the dogs went wild to mate, and that night I would definitely see my neighbors naked and howling outside.
"Why? Do you also want to try to be their race by going naked and howling?" I chuckled as Nathan blushed. He was thinking about him f*****g a naked she-wolf.
Nathan sighed as he adjusted his glasses. "No, Nicho. But I just want to say that your time is running out," Nathan looked at me sympathetically for a moment before continuing. "I know you want to avoid this topic, but I think it's time for you to really find a mate."
"You see, your health is getting worse, and your lungs are getting weaker. It's about time before your body fully shuts down, collapses, and—" "I don't need a mate."
"Yes?"
I sighed, knowing Nathan had already heard it clearly, but that's okay. I would repeat it again to make it clear. "Like I said, I don't need a mate."
"Sooner or later, this body will fall. Nothing is eternal here, and to be honest, this body kinda sucks," I stopped to lick my chapped lips. Why was it getting dry by the second? "And besides, it's not like I want to commit to someone. What's the good of having a mate who only lives as your blood bank? One day they will wither and die, and I have to look for a new one to replace them."
"Well, I'm just saying," Nathan sighed as he started packing his things quickly. Why did he act as if want to leave? "And about mates, as much as you hate it, you still can't avoid them as one day, you have to meet and be with them whether you like it or not."
I opened my mouth, about to protest, but Nathan had already held up a hand. "Okay, my time is up. I must leave now. Let's just hope that your mate isn't the same as the wolves, or she will smell like their saliva. "
"You know how those dogs have a high libido, and they won't hesitate to f**k her if they know she's their mate."
Then, Nathan left. I shut my eyes tight and inhaled deeply, feeling a sudden change of mood to a worse one.
"Tsk, I better rest…There's no point in thinking about unimportant things…" I thought, starting to take out my phone and play a game. However, I can't lie that I was kind of thinking about Nathan's words, and somehow…I thought about Alexa and her blood, and how sexy and delicious her red lips were.
"I don't know why I even bother to think about her. I mean, she's just 8.5 and not 10. But let's just hope she's not mated with the dogs, or she will…" DING DONG!!
"A visitor?" I thought, before seeing the doctor's bag and sighing, knowing Nathan had left it.
That doctor's brain was only filled with p**n, huh?
"I'd better deliver it to him fast so I can rest…" I murmured, detaching myself from the nebulizer and taking that bag hastily. I coughed, feeling my chest tight as I did so, and I planned to give Nathan a good scolding so he wouldn't forget again.
However, as I opened the door, I didn't expect to get a surprise, and the ‘oxygen’…was standing in front of my door, and giving me a shred of life.
"Hey, if you keep forgetting the bag, next time I will…." "H—Hi, Nicholas!"
"Alexa???"
