Prologue
It's been more than three years since the world as most people knew it fell. It's been the almost same amount of time since Lora lost her last family member.
She lived in the current world alone and all she can remember from this nightmare is how scared she was when it all started. One day while watching the news she saw a news report about a rapidly spreading virus that turned humans into monsters that only cared to hunt down other humans and eat them. She remembers well how all of her family decided to barricade inside of their house to wait it out, but sadly it wasn't enough. Soon they had to leave their home with tears in their eyes because of her parents and two sisters only she and her father managed to escape.
Then only being seventeen years old she couldn't imagine how hard living will get, but together with her father she managed to find a perfect place in the woods where they built their camp, that's been her home ever since.
Sadly her father left her due to illness and she was left alone. Since then she lived her days just waiting for the end, doing the same routine that she does every day without any hope for anything.
But everything changed when she made too much noise on her walk to get water from a water pump that was in the village nearby. The noise attracted one of the creatures that once were human and it attacked her and even though she was already prepared for this day she started to cry and shout for all of this to stop. Then she heard a loud gunshot and the creature fell with a huge hole in his head. Lora wasn't sure if it was fear or will to stay alive but she just got up and ran, she ran back to her camp as fast as she could, once she was back she went inside her shelter, still crying and shaking she layed down in the furthest corner waiting for the person who killed the creature to come and kill her.
Time passed but nothing happened, she even had a thought that she was fast enough to run away from those people and then she froze. There was a knock on a wooden door that blocked the entrance, and then she heard a man's voice "Are you okay" he said.
