The Hunters Pray

Rin is back

^Loras point of view^

Lora woke up early as usual. Getting up early was something she was so used to that it wasn't even bothering her, but there was something else that bothered her quite a lot. The last couple of days were something she didn't imagine could ever happen. She almost died and she met a stranger that saved her, helped her, and then left out of nowhere. Thinking about this reminded Lora about yesterday's trap and she thought she should go to check it out.

After what looked like an hour Lora finally found the place where they were yesterday and what she found surprising was there was a rabbit there. Lora felt so happy, but sad at the same time, and then she heard something she wasn't expecting.

"I've told you that this trap will work"

Lora turned around and saw Rin standing by the tree with a silly smile on his face.

"You seemed to take your time to find the path to here, seems like your ability to memorize places is not that good."

Rin said with a concerned look

"Sorry I wasn't focused yesterday, but I still found it, and now we have tasty lunch for us," Lora said with a smile on her face.

"Well yes you are right, but I think you should reset the trap in another place if you want to catch some more of them".

Rin said pointing to the trap.

Lora was determined to show Rin that she can do it, so after taking the rabbit out of the snare, she disassembled it and placed the rack that Rin built in a different location, she inspected the ground and for her, it seemed like a great location to place it and after resetting the snare, she covered everything with branches and moved away from it.

After doing that Lora felt something that she hasn't felt in so long. She felt happy, it almost felt unreal for her just a couple of days ago she was living just to live, but now she had a glimmer of hope and that hope was a Rin, a person that saved and showed her that there is more to life in this horrible world.

"I am going back to camp, are you coming with me?", she said with confidence in her voice.

"Well, I got that rabbit for you, so half of it is mine", Rin said back and went after Lora.

"You can have half if you skin it", Lora said with a smile on her face, it was an almost unfamiliar feeling, but it gave her strength and she wanted to cling to this feeling.

They soon returned to camp, and Lora gave the rabbit to Rin so he could skin it and while he was busy with the rabbit she went on to light the fire. Everything happened faster and better for her and that made her think about asking Rin to stay living with her, maybe together they could survive for longer, maybe she could become as strong as he is, but all of those thoughts were stopped when she noticed how terrifying Rin looked, the eyes were almost mad and they were dead focused on Lora, with a knife that he used to skin rabbit tightly gripped in his hand.

Lora actually felt scared and she thought that this will be the end of her, but in an instant, his look changed and he once again became calm and continued to work on the rabbit.

Lora left the campgrounds went behind the tree and sat down, she didn't know what just happened, but it scared her way too much. Just moments ago she thought about asking him to stay, but now she was afraid of Rin, and she couldn't force herself to go back into the camp. Suddenly she heard Rins voice.

Lora your rabbit is ready to be cooked, I am not sure where you went, but better come back here and cook it or else I will eat it alone", Rins voice sounded playful and it caught Loras attention so she went back into camp.

"You are getting only half of the rabbit I've told you," she said with complete confidence in herself.

"Well you disappeared so I thought that you are leaving it for me to eat alone," Rin said teasing Lora, and it worked making Lora blush. She found it strange once again and it almost made her forget what she saw just moments ago.

"Oh no you are not getting all of it, but if you will keep on teasing me I will eat all of it and leave you hungry. She said with a huge smile and it seemed to take Rin a step back since he looked quite puzzled this time.

"You seem different from what you looked like yesterday, what happened while I was away?" He asked looking a bit confused.

"Nothing happened it was a usual day for me, but it seems like today though me something important"

"And what is it so important that you learned?"

"Nothing much," Lora said with a smile as she walked towards her shelter.

'I am not sure what you are hiding but I will find out it Rin, you are way scarier than creatures that humans became and at the same time you are helpful and caring, but for now I have to watch for myself around you and maybe then you will open up' Lora though as she was looking at Rin who was building up the fire.

"Should we cook this rabbit, or are we waiting for you to get ready?" Rin said with a bit annoyed look in his eyes.

"Don't be such a baby, I've told you I am eating all of it alone" Lora said and took the rabbit from Rins hand.

She now felt stronger than she ever felt and she didn't want to go back to how she felt before, she had to push on and become stronger and the key to that stood next to her.

'Thank you Rin' was all she had in her mind while she was cooking rabbit.
