The Hunters Pray

Time alone

^Loras point of view^

After a conversation with Rin Lora wanted to have some time alone and think about what happened while she was in the village and also about changes that happened in her life these past few days.

She sat down on a tree stump and just closed her eyes.

《FLASHBACK》

*Two months before the infection started*

"Lora get your ass down here and help me set up the table!", her sister Kristen said

"You are good enough to do it yourself, I am still getting ready" Lora shouted back while putting her dress on. Today was a festive day in her family house, her parents celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, so she wanted to dress up as nicely as she could.

"I will come up and kick your ass Lora I swear it!" Kristen shouted,

"You have tried that many times and I won every single one of them", Lora said while exiting her room.

"Come on you two I don't want to clean the mess that you've created again", Hera their youngest sister said.

"Every time you two have a brawl something gets destroyed and then I have to clean your mess while you two sit in the bathroom cleaning yourselves," she said with an annoyed tone.

Lora and Kristen loved to fight each other, even though they both were pretty and well-educated girls, their differences led them to solve their issues with old fashioned brawl and it always ended up with Lora winning and something broke inside of the house which involved Hera since she always had to clean their mess.

"Tell that to Kristen she always wants to fight me for no real reason and you know that I don't give up no matter what", Lora said as she joined the table. All three of them started to laugh, they were as close as they could be. Knowing each other secrets and biggest fears made them best friends to each other as they always had each other's support when something happened.

《End of FLASHBACK》

Lora opened her eyes and tears started to flow down her face, she missed those good days and she missed her sisters, even more, they were part of her, and losing them seemed to turn everything that Lora was before infection into someone that she couldn't recognize.

Lora took a couple of deep breaths with her eyes closed and when she opened them she felt much better. Yes, she was alone but for the first time since losing her family, Lora felt like herself again. 'No one would want to see me this weak, it's not who I am and I want to make sure that my families memories live on with me, no matter if Rin will stay with me or not, I won't sit and wait for death anymore, I will do whatever it takes for me to survive.'

Lora stood up and went forwards deeper into the forest, after all, she wanted to find some animal paths where she could set up traps.

After twenty minutes she found a big path between the trees

"Well this was easy", She said to herself "I wonder what kind of animal uses it, but whatever it is it should be big and we won't catch it that easy", then she remembered Rins rifle, "I wonder if that would work, Rin could shoot whatever walks here and we would have a lot of mean to eat", she kept thinking while she walked back towards her camp.

When she came back she found that there was no sign of Rin once again, but then she froze, next to the shelter she noticed a puddle of blood and after looking closer she noticed that there was a trail of blood towards the forest. Then she remembered the car that passed the village. Could it be that someone followed her and killed Rin while she was away? Lora once again felt powerless but she pushed past her fear and decided to follow the blood trail. After a couple of minutes, she noticed something laying on the ground but when she came closer she understood that it wasn't Rin, this body reminded her of one of the people that were in the car. 'He followed me here and attacked Rin, and now he is dead, did Rin killed him, but he said that he didn't kill other humans before, well it had to be self-defense' Lora went back from the body and towards her camp. 'I need to leave this place, those people will return looking for their friend and they will think that I've killed him and kill me' she thought. She started to look around her camp for things that she needs the most, and soon she had some of the essential things with her. Food and water for a couple of days were the most important things, for now, she also picked up a couple of knives, warmer clothes, and a sleeping bag she used as well, now she was ready to move out. She looked back at her camp with sadness in her eyes this was her home for the last three years but now she had to leave and face the dangerous world that was waiting for her.

"Just watch me, Kristen, I will win again", she said with a smile on her face.

^Rins point of view^

'Damn it he fallowed Lora here, luckily he was a bad shooter or else I would be dead, it kind of feels weird to kill a human after all this time, it's probably been two years since I've done it last time, oh well, Lora is probably panicking back in the camp, I can't let her run away from me, I am not picking another pray it's not for me to go down on my hunt' Rin though while stitching his wound in one of the village houses.
