-INCEPTION
Visability was almost non-exstant. Thick fog swallowed Medeis forest. Green glossy eyes in agony and despair were getting lost in a thick oak canopy. He watched his trail being followed by the torches with turquoise flames. Soon enough he heard growling of hound dogs and distant voices of their guardians: "Damn it! They found me" he thought. He took out remaining golden dust from his half beaten leathery bag and coverd himself with it with the last few drops of hope. The dogs had his scent and in no time they gathered beneath the tree. The foam that poured from their jaws and blood-thirsty eyes looked straight at him. They started scratching and climbing towards him. They sniffed and stared but they couldn't see him, as if he dissappeared.
"It's working" his mind screams. But that was not enough to free him from his anxiety and fear that prevailed trought his body, at last, that was the only thing that kept him alive. One of the dogs looked straight into his eyes like he could see him, but the guardians whistle called back the dogs and he was free.
Weak and terrified, he stayed on the tree till the flames were far enough. The fog was not very helpfull, those seekers could be couple of yards away or a couple of miles away. The time was running out and he had to try his luck one last time.
Lost and exhausted, he wondered trough the forest losing his hope. It seemed like the forest was endless, whereever he wound up, he always saw the same sights, couple of trees, muddy ground and thick fog.
"If it has to be like this...so be it" he murmured and fell to the ground. Green eyes sank to the darkness and the breathing silenced. Like it stopped.
Rumble of thunder tore trough the sky miles away. The dark prevailed and clouds with color of ink gathered and started driping. The drops that found their way trough the canopy fell upon his chin. The moment he first opened his eyes, there was only one thought...Water.. He ran from the tree and rised his head up to catch some rain drops. That chase was very long and tiring after all. Only thing that was left to do was to keep going. Where? He doesn't know, but as far away as possible from those savages. He picked up his bag and let his feet lead the way. The rain started to get louder and louder, and the only source of light were flashes of thunder, but he pushed trough. His mind was playing tricks on him. He started to remember a story he once heard. A Forest of trapped souls, a place where no magic could be used.
- The voice in his mind said that, just any moment, he will run into those hound dogs again. Well it wouldn't be suprising. He decided to find somewhere to hide for a while. "That will do" he thought while looking at big branches on the ground. He leaned them to the side of some big tree and made cover. He sat under the branches, but quickly got distracted. He heard somebody... running towards him. Trying to see trough the branches, he sees a girl. She ran as fast as she could. In a second that she got close to him, he grabbed her by the hand and told her to be quiet. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"What are you running from? Don't worry, I wont hurt you."
"They... they killed them all... you have to help them." -she replied while grabbing his arm.
" Listen, I can't help them Neither can I let you go alone. We'll have to wait... until the first light. I'll help you find whoever you're looking for.. I promise" -he glanced at her and gave her his jacket.
" Are we safe here?" -she asked.
"Don't know, but out there is worse than in here, so yeah, I think we're safe" -he replied with a hidden smile on his face.
" Thank you. My name is Helena by the way"
"Luke, nice to meet you."
