Project Schemer: Higeki's chapter: Requiem

Arc 2 - Epilogue: The grand reveal - Savant.

Who was that, a living god in Altoris ? Someone with thaumaturgy and power to control snow and water. A god in Altoris, a god in the ruined world... How could something like this happened, but his way of acting, he is not a person who would take insult, maybe a victim of the city leaders ? But no matter who he is, he really did save me but in the end, he only appear when i am desperate, but right now, it is too painful to think.

"You finally awake. Never thought you would do that to yourself."

"What choice do i have, in that crowd, i am the only one who can fight and that is an assassin from the city afterall."

"At least because of your effort, four sectors arrived to the haven and the assassins are finished off."

"I didn't do that. I am no match for that assassin."

"Even with that potion ?"

"That only help me endure pain in thirty minutes. It was someone else, he called himself the god of water and he hate those assassins... i will need to go to the old garden for a while."

"Alright, do you need me to escort ? I can carry you on my back if you need."

"Don't worry about that, i still can walk and sometime, i just want some time for myself"

The butler welcome me as always like he knows i will be here, i pressed the matter but the butler remain silent and i respect his choice. I will find the truth on my own, that is what i prefer so nothing wrong with his choice, i searched the library but the blue star and the language of the thirteen is something i just found. Maybe i search the library with these new information and never forget the information about the god of water, even the last time i made a mess but the book return to its original position. But after nearly two hours i learned the fact that these information are new, so the library doesn't help all that much since most of the information in this place is history. 

"Higeki, we have a guest, maybe he was following you. Since you are the one who know how to keep secret."

"Can you describe him so i can prepare. I was recovered from a lot of injury, my state maybe not allow me to fight against any threat."

"He is tall and big, maybe thirty or a little bit older."

"He is my caretaker, in another word, i usually call him father."

"Your father... i guess i can make an exception, not many people can come here and leave as they please. This mansion belong to my master and anyone who he choose to inherit this place, you are one of those inheritant. But i also understand the bond of father and child so this is an exception."

Korvos is walking in the greenhouse, even with the appearance that can sent fear to people's heart like they are facing a large bear, he is a very caring person. Always make sure that he doesn't break a single twig by accident, his caring gesture even with that appearance, a gentle giant is the perfect word to describe him. But i know far too well that both of us know the presence of the other person, a bond share between father and son, we just have so many secret so it really hard for both of us to start. But Korvos know, he is the father, he is the one who have the courage to start first.

"I always consider you as my own child and the same time i consider you to be a friend. But that moment, the moment you chose to call me as Father, something bloomed inside me. That is the moment i can't keep this secret. You are chosen by the will of this world to become its saviour but before that your mind was no different from a child. So i thought i could change you, you could become a normal person and we could live in peace until the day we return to dust and snow."

"I am not mad nor sad, you took the role as my father and i can understand your decision, no one want to see the child that they care so much got hurt. But..."

"Please, let wait for a while, i want this moment to last a little bit longer. You are the blessing for my heart, even i found you lying in the snow and you not look like a child but that moment in my mind, i saw a future where you can live like a child."

"In the end, i found all the secret."

"But i am no longer afraid, that future is something i aim for, where you can live in peace, that moment feel like a far away future, like summer on this cold planet. Maybe it is the right choice to let you stand up and fight."

"And that summer will come, i will do anything to melt all these snow and ice. But i can't do that with the fog in front of my face, everything feel like a dream to me."

"I can't help you with that but i believe they can explain everything to you."

So they are the one who have some answers, maybe a part of the truth or maybe they have the answer for everything. The haven is the same as always but the sight always bring up something, something that i forgot but it is something always exist in my mind like a mirage. Too much scheming and planing that i forgot to witness the beauty of this place that we called the haven, the joy of children, the harmony of everyone, the haven that we built for everyone. The haven is the home for six sectors and we still have a lot of empty lot and empty houses not because sector 15 is a large place but because we were late. Seeing everyone here and remember those i can't save, those got captured in some concentration camp or even keep as servants in a lot of family in the city. Learning the fact is the first step and admitted my mistake is the second step, i made a lot of mistake like how i have my hope up in sector 6 end up as a waste of time. 

"Father, i am scared of the truth. What if the truth is much more painful than everything i can handle ?"

"Don't worry, i will stay with you and you can always lean on me, we will bear the weight of the truth together."

The meeting room of the organization have everyone, all 23 members except for the omega seat which have no one, and they are all ready like they are waiting for me. Every member even Delta, Xi and Theta who should be in the city right now are sitting in their seats waiting for our arrival. They are even act out of their characters, there is nothing about this meeting is cheerful, this meeting is serious.

"Thank you for your arrival Higeki. We were discussing some matter but since you are here, we should get to the point. We are the Savant, a remnant of an organization called the Order."

"The remnant of an organization... what happened to it ?"

"The organization fell when a traitor destroy it, we are the remnant of the organization tasked with the mission to finish everything."

"You see, you are not just someone Higeki. The highest ranking member in that organization was someone with the same name as you, he is also Higeki. Some rumor said, he is the water god of another dimension."

"So are you saying, i am water god Higeki ?"

"Not really, people can have the same name but Higeki departed from this world five years ago. It could be that you are somehow a reincarnation of him, someone that the system of this world created to reassemble him and balance the scale."

"So this world consider me as a replacement ?"

"Not really, you must understand how Altoris work, to remain in the current state, a state of equilibrium, someone must appear to balance the scale."

"So no matter the result there will be no happy ending."

"Do you believe in a fragile hope ?"

"After sector 6, i am not sure."

"You don't need to worry, you can fought against the city leaders while we will help you fight against the cycle and support you in this war. You can trust us, we are the Savant afterall."

There is no star watching tonight and there is no need for that, an important and forgotten holiday is approaching. Everyone is decorating their houses and prepare for the night, so Korvos and I decided to night will be calm and we just enjoy this little moment of peace. There were so much, so much pain, so much joy, so much despair yet so much hope, the storm is approaching so this moment of peace is necessary. The city still tearing themselves apart but i doubt that is just a part of their true power, they don't need a crowd to support them, with their technologies, they can annihilate everything if they wanted.

"Hey there Higeki."

"Alpha ?"

"I just here to give you something."

"What is this... isn't this is what Lambda is making ?"

"Don't worry, this one is the supreme version created by our secret member, Omega."

"Can you explain further ?"

"Omega is a merciful person but he bear hatred toward the city leaders, his hatred for the city leaders give him determination, he made this device for you. Using it or not depend on you."

"But why omega isn't presenting himself in the meeting ?"

"The information about him is kept as a secret, Omega is the seat for the true prodigy and he is the first student of Professor. Different from us, he is talented, he can do everything we can do and more."

"So keep his secret is a way to keep him safe, but what is the fuction of this device."

"This device will give you a way out from any situation, that is what omega said. Maybe this can be dangerous or it can be a miracle depend on situation."

"Are you staying ?"

"Not really, i have to be with everyone in Savant too, we are a family afterall."

So in the end, we all are fighting for our family. And this device, maybe a test run won't hurt, the moment i pressed the button, all i can see is white and a child. The child is not really high and he is sleeping, an instrument lying next to him and in his hand is a sword.

"Don't fear, i will help when i am asked. I am Higeki, the water god or that is what my identity but i will help you."

"You are not Higeki, you are a version created by someone to imitate some part of his power."

"Tomoe ?"

"He is not the real Higeki, i know who my other half look like and you are not look like him but your power... Tell me, who is your creator ?"

"I don't know i can hear the voice of my creator but i can't see him."

"Tomoe... but the bond and a part of the memories... how ?"

"I can figure out something now, you are a replica of Higeki created by himself, maybe WORLD get him and imprisoned him, in his last attemp he created you. I know the real location of Higeki now."

"Where is he ?"

"He should be waiting for us on the sky right now."

"Alright we both have our purpose and our path crossed and you also help us right third Higeki ?"

"My master order is to aid you."

The star waiting on the sky, the true Higeki, the first one, with both Higeki and Tomoe, we will save the first one. And then Tomoe explain everything, with this replica of Higeki with almost of the power that have the same properties as the original Higeki and that time when Higeki used my body even from far away now Tomoe can do the same. Anytime i need help, Tomoe and Higeki-replica can use my body to perform those thaumaturgy that true Higeki once used. Wait for me the blue star, i will bring you back along with the summer of Altoris and end this cycle along with the system of this world.
