As my feet pummeled the ground underneath, the image of the trespasser’s last words were replaying in my head on a constant loop.
“He’s coming for his bride… He’s coming for your mate, Skyler”
Those were the only words that had stayed with me. As those words left his lips, the smug look that was plastered on his face was also cemented into my memories.
