Ahiga had no choice than to take Shael home with him since she fainted in his arms and it wouldn't speak well to leave her there when she clearly needed help. He threw her on his back and hurried home to take care of her and by the time he got home, Adahy was not yet back from hunting.
"I should prepare something warm to wake her up first" he muttered to himself as he ran to the kitchen to boil water and brought it in a bowl. He added a bit of cold water to cool it down before dipping in a towel which he used to mop her forehead for a while
She sneezed to assure him that she was still alive and that made his concerns fade away a little. He left her in the room and went to cook dinner before Adahy came back. By the time he was through, the hunter was back from the forest and he came back with a big game which he killed for the day
"You stayed longer than expected" Ahiga remarked as he set the table for him to eat his meal.
"Yes, I was coming back when I met people looking for a lady. I decided to join them in the search but we couldn't find her at the end of the day", Adahy responded.
"A lady?" he asked, raising his brow.
" Yes, it was said that she got lost or so, the governor thinks she ran away but the son kept insisting that she wouldn't do that, it was quite a mess", Adahy explained innocently.
"Did this happen in this town or another place?" he questioned, further dropping his gaze.
"It happened in the town next to us" Adahy replied before pausing for a bit to look at Ahiga, who was obviously curious about the story.
"But why are you so curious and invented in the story? It's not your style" Adahy asked, eyeing him.
"The thing is I know about the story" he answered scratching his hair continously
"You know about it? how and why?" Adahy questioned pausing his food
"I went to deliver an item and was on my way when I heard a scream from the forest, I firstly ignored it but it came again and again so I had no choice but to go see since it was the voice of a woman and on getting there you would not belive what I saw" he explained
"What did you see that I will not believe?" Adahy asked eyeing him and he sat down first before resuming the story
"there were two men trying to r**e the lady, they looked like the sons of rich men and it was as if they were trying to have fun with her against her will" he added and Adahy's mouth hung open in astonishment
"What in the crazy world is happening? so what did you do? did you save the lady? you didn't leave her did you?" Adahy asked seriously and Ahiga wondered if he should say the truth or tease him a little but kicked against it
"Of course, I saved her and she's safe with me in here" he replied making Adahy tilt his head in further confusion
"She's where with you?" Adahy asked looking around before looking back at him
"She's here with me in this house, she's sleeping in that room" he replied pointing to the door to the room where she was sleeping
"You! did I permit you to bring a stranger here? what if she was the runaway slave? do you want to put me in trouble?" Adahy asked shining his eyes
"Well I wanted to take her back to her house but then she fainted and I had no choice but to treat her myself till she's able to tell me where she lives or where she's from" he explained with a pout and Adahy sighed
"Take me there" Adahy instructed him and they both went to the room where he laid her, she was sleeping soundly and even snoring when they got there
"Wow, she's better now seeing the way she's snoring" Ahiga said with a laugh before running to check her forehead
"I'm still not sure about this decision you took, once she wakes up let's send her back to them" Adahy remarked and Ahiga got angry at the statement
"You keep talking about sending her back without even sympathesizing with her or trying to understand her, is this how awful you are? I told you she was almost forced to sleep with them, who knows if those are the masters from the household she serves? what do you think will happen if she's released to go back to that same house? do you think she will be happy and jump forward? why not think it through before judging? what if it was your relative? would you still kick them out like this?" Ahiga lashed out and Adahy had no choice but to feel bad because all what he said was true
The reason why he was trying to avoid the trouble was because the governor was invovled but as he had said, will he do that to her if she were his relative and also who knows what will happen if she's taken back to the house where she was almost r***d. He resumed his food and ate in silence while Ahiga sat beside her to make sure she wasn't feeling feverish like in the afternoon.
He thought about he saved her in the bush while she was shouting and wondered what would have happened if he wasn't passing by that time or if he had decided to ignore like he had originally intended to do. He wondered if they would r**e and threaten her,or even push her down the mountain when they are through with her to get rid of her, he was glad that at least he could help and save her from them
"You should let me know when she wakes up" Adahy said from outside the door and Ahiga responded that he will before they both went to sleep but Ahiga stayed behind in the room and slept there but he woke up to the sound of the door shaking as if someone wanted to force it open, he opened his eyes to see Shael panicking and shaking the door as if she wanted to go out
"You are up already? how are you feeling now?" he said to her and she turned to face him before releasing an ear piercing yell
