Chapter Two - Dancing the Night Away

I couldn't keep my eyes away from Stefan as we danced. Our chests weren't touching, but they were so close that it made me breathless. He looked at me with a slight smile, looking at my face in wonder for I don't know what... I smiled, bashful as I looked down for a moment before looking back up at him. He chuckled lowly. However, I could still feel the glare of Enzo on my back. I could feel the heat it gave me and the way it made my heart flutter at the same time. It made me want to look at him, but I focused on Stefan the whole time (not like it was hard anyways). His hand rested on my lower back, his fingers grazing at my skin and making me bite my lip. He could tell the effect he had on me and it made me shiver. "So... what do you do, Tori?" Stefan said, his hand going a little higher. "I... I work." I laughed, shaking my head. "I work, I come home and clean. My mom cooks and we both share the utility bills." "No, not what you do... I mean... Besides that." Stefan flashes me another big smile, making me fluster because I almost can't believe he's shooting me that look instead of some other wealthy family in town. "I mean, hobbies. Fun activities." "I don't have a lot of time for those but... I do like to draw." "Draw?" "Yeah. I mean, I like doing anything creative with paper and pencils. I also paint sometimes, but I do have to work on that as well." I say, slightly embarrassed. I don't talk to a lot of people about my art, besides my mom. "Is that so? Well, my art is my athleticism. I like to do football and dabble in the other sports every now and then. I also love running in the mornings and love running at night too. I wouldn't mind a partner tonight." I laughed. "A midnight run? I'm not a runner." "We could do other forms of cardio." He says, his voice husky as he goes to whisper along my ear. Stefan's lips graze my skin there and it feels like I'm about to explode. I huff, surprised at his forwardness. "Like what?" "There's always... jumping jacks." "Oh... how forward of you. You want to do jumping jacks with me... that's so sweet." I reply, sarcastic as my body hums with excitement. I don't care much about his status, though that could be a bonus in a way... "But I'm not a one-time jog kind of girl. I'm more of a long-time gym partner kind of girl." Stefan raises a brow. "Long time commitment? I barely know you." "Exactly. I barely know you." I say, smiling coyly. I liked the flirting and I wasn't looking for commitment either, but I wasn't about to just give it up to him after knowing him for five minutes. "But I am enjoying this dance. You're easy on the eyes, at the very least." "Oh, but ten minutes ago I was gorgeous." His face was so close, I was tempted to take his offer, and I've done it before, but I wasn't comfortable with strangers like that. "Things change fast." I quip back, letting out a small giggle as I turn my head. We continue to dance in a waltz, and as we turned, I saw Enzo taking a girl upstairs. I scoffed in surprise as I looked over Stefan's shoulder. Stefan followed me eyes and chuckled again. "Is he taking her up there to-" "No. Not that." Stefan grinned, "It's just... Actually, why don't I show you?" He suddenly turned to lead me by the hand. I stopped him, looking at him with hesitance. Stefan smiled reassuringly, "It's nothing like that, I promise. It's just... VIP." I started to follow him. He slowed down to walk beside me, guiding me through the dance floor and to the stair case on the right. His hand rested on my back again, making me bite my lip at the way it made me feel. As we reached the top, we saw a line of some people waiting to get in. Stefan whispered in my ear, making me slightly gasp, "They pay a lot to wait around for an hour to get in and mingle with expensive people. Networking is all they want." The line of people stopped at a rope and a man protecting two doors with colorful lights shining through the white sheer curtains. The man was almost as tall as the doors, his typical bodyguard outfit barely fitting him as he stood with a clipboard. The minute he noticed Stefan walking up, he opened the rope and stepped aside with a professional nod. I tensed, noticing the girls in line glaring at me. For what, I don't know why. As the bodyguard opened the door, it was almost the same size as the ballroom downstairs but noticeably bigger. There were small private-like booths along the walls and corners being undoubtedly occupied by wealthy people in town as well. I never really knew them by face, but rather name to be honest. Stefan was known for being a playboy while Enzo was known for raging about everything. "Impressed?" Stefan asked. There was a bar and waiters bringing drinks to people, as well as food but served by people by waiters, unlike downstairs, and a dance floor with a lot of couples grinding. The difference between the VIP lounge and downstairs was the this had club music and atmosphere, while downstairs had classical music. I nodded with a smile, "You got me. Then again, I've never really been to a party with rich people." "Still counts." He teases, laughing as he starts leading me to the dance floor. I look around, wondering where Enzo might be. Why it mattered to me, I don't know, but it nagged at me. I shook it off, following eagerly and getting tugged into Stefan's body. I laugh as Stefan stepped away, starting to dance in a cheesy yet actually kind of good way. I stepped closer, starting to dance as best I can and swaying my hips side to side on beat with the music. Stefan looked down at my body, smirking and putting his hands on my hips. His eyes go back to mine, an electric charge between us that was building as we danced more freely together against each other. It's a little overwhelming... It consumes me. I turn around suddenly, pressing the back of my body against him as to which he holds me tighter against his front. I flush, my cheeks getting hot as we basically start grinding against each other in front of everyone. We don't look that different than the other kids around our age on the dance floor, I guess. I could feel his erection grow against me as I swayed my hips against him. I grinded back, biting my lip as his hands guided my body against him and to the music at the same time. My hands were in the air, going to graze his shoulders gently from behind. I closed my eyes, only listening to the music as I kept dancing against him. That’s when I felt goosebumps, as if someone was staring. I opened my eyes and saw Enzo glaring from across the dance floor with his date beside him, his face flushed as he started with both anger and.. longing? I stared back, tilting my head as I gave him a heated look as well. He wasn’t going to be rude, then stare again angrily, and not be teased. Then I regretted it. Because he started walking over.
