He wrapped his arms around me and carried me to his room. Now I understand why it has that distinct scent of lavender and earth; it’s the essence of my mate.
He settled down with me on his lap, mirroring how I had earlier devoured him with my gaze. He returned the favor.
For at least a full minute, he studied me intently, absorbing every detail. His right hand lifted to cradle my face, holding it tenderly as he took me in. A flutter of butterflies danced in my stomach, and Marie felt it too; she couldn't help but purr. But, as all moments do, this one came to an end when his hand slipped away.
Suddenly, it dawned on me that I hadn’t yet drifted off to sleep. "How many days have I been out?" He looked at me, as if snapping out of a trance, and replied, "Six whole days! How could you sleep for so long? I thought you might not wake up." I laughed softly, realizing just how concerned he truly was. "That’s been my pattern since I was ten; I’m surprised I haven’t dozed off yet." His expression shifted to one of concern. "We need to find a way to fix that; I can’t have you sleeping for so long." It seemed my father had informed him about my condition, as he didn’t seem overly shocked.

She slept for an entire six days, and I was left in disbelief for the first two. I attempted to use magic to rouse her, but it was in vain. Eventually, I sought an audience with her father, who filled me in on the situation. I was utterly baffled. Never before had I encountered anything like this, yet here I was. My mate suffers from this condition, and I am determined to find her the help she needs.
"What do you experience when you feel the urge to sleep?" I asked. Her eyes widened in response. "I lose all my senses; it’s much like what you witnessed—like I’m alive but not truly present. Even Marie doesn’t understand why this happens," she explained. I listened closely; it appeared that even her wolf was unaware of the reason behind her overwhelming fatigue. I need to consult Bonfire for assistance.

I shared all my sleep struggles with him, and for a moment, he fell silent. But oh, it seemed like he was blissfully unaware of what his hand was up to. Yes, please, go a little higher. Then, just like that, he halted, exclaiming, "Seriously, ugh." I couldn't bring myself to voice my thoughts.
He pressed a gentle kiss on the crown of my head and said, "You really should take a bath; this isn’t the time for you to be feeling frisky." Oh, so you’ve got a sarcastic side, do you? I laughed softly, "You’re right." He grinned and pointed, "That’s the bathroom, and your clothes are in there. Since you’ve already packed to escape, it was easy to grab your things." If only he could read my mind as he spoke, those lips of his—oh my goodness. "Alright, I understand, but don’t be shocked if I end up dozing off in the tub." And wouldn’t you know it, I really did drift off in the bathtub…
Bonfire is one of the oldest wizards in my pack, and he may have the answers I seek. He just arrived at the pack yesterday and is quite the busy wizard. After foraging through the woods for herbs, he’ll return to the pack to rest. Well, I guess I’ll have to interrupt him, Dimitri chuckled.

Is she truly asleep again? After removing her from the bathtub and drying her off, I took a moment to admire my mate; her complexion is among the most flawless I have ever encountered in a woman. While I have had my share of romantic experiences, none compare to her.
Her straight brunette hair, the contours of her face, her delicate nose, and full lips—if she were aware of my thoughts, she would likely flee; such an outcome would be unfortunate, yet I cannot be faulted for my feelings.
Her chest rose and fell rhythmically, mirroring the movement of her breasts. I must admit, I should probably cover her with a blanket. I can sense my own physical response to her presence.
I dressed her in her clothes and tucked her into bed. It is imperative that I seek out Bonfire. I require his assistance; perhaps he can identify the reason for her excessive drowsiness and offer a remedy.
As I exited the packhouse, I contacted Aaron to accompany me to Bonfire's residence. He drove the car, I entered, and we set off.
