The brisk air and the delightful aroma of the earth enveloped me, and I could almost envision myself soaring through the sky, savoring the most exquisite meal ever prepared. That sausage was particularly tempting, but just as I was about to indulge, I felt a sharp jab in my back. Whatever it was, I was determined to eliminate it, even if it meant facing my last stand; Marie shared my resolve.
Before I could fully comprehend my surroundings, a voice pierced the air, "Get up, you fool." Alas, that sausage! The reality of my perilous situation rushed back to me. I pushed myself off the ground and stood upright, only to be met with the gaze of a menacing figure. He wielded a stick, and behind him lurked another individual with murderous intent. "Hello," I managed to utter, offering a nervous smile, fully aware of the precariousness of my situation.
Aaron
What an inconvenience. I inhaled deeply and examined my surroundings carefully. I spotted a bag, indicating that this individual was preparing to escape. I glared at her, nearly growling, when the most astonishing event occurred: she slumped over and resumed snoring. "What on earth?" I exclaimed as I took the stick and shook her once more, but she remained unresponsive. I glanced at Davis, who wore a similar expression of disbelief. "You know what, just carry her. Let’s move," I instructed. Davis hoisted her onto his shoulder, and the fool continued to sleep soundly.
Jackson
My men and I stealthily encircled them, and I caught sight of Douglas's repugnant face. He was merely a boy, no older than twenty-two; how could he commit such a heinous act against a girl who had just reached adulthood? A despicable wretch. I established a mind link with Aaron, who confirmed that they were in position and mentioned something about a girl who was asleep, though that was not my immediate concern.
I signaled for the attack to commence, instructing my men to leave Douglas for me to confront personally.
The warriors of the Winds Pack were caught off guard, and by the time they realized our presence, it was too late. I lunged at one of them, tearing his heart out with my partially transformed hands. I continued to eliminate anyone who stood in my way, my focus solely on Douglas. Upon seeing me, he attempted to flee, but Aaron was quicker, seizing him by the throat.
A growl resonated in the air, and as I turned, I found Alpha Sebastian kneeling before me, accompanied by his beta. He implored, "The pup is a fool; you may do with him as you wish, but I beseech you, alpha to alpha, do not let the sin of one lead to the downfall of all." My body trembled with rage, and I growled, my eyes turning black. I growled once more, but then a voice broke through, surprisingly soothing, "Can't a girl get a good sleep?" I turned to see her resting on Davis's shoulder, who gently set her down. She turned to face me, and I was captivated by her stunning green eyes. Dimitri growled within me, declaring, "MINE."
I was taken aback as her gaze shifted from me to the man standing next to Alpha Sebastian. She offered him a smile, yet his expression was one of disappointment. I cleared my throat and directed my attention to Alpha Sebastian, who remained on his knees. "I will take your son and do with him as I wish. Alpha to alpha, I vow not to harm your pack, but should this occur again, I will eradicate this pack from existence and..." At that moment, my mate collapsed onto the floor and began to snore. It was then that Aaron remarked, "This is the second time she has done that."
The beta stepped forward and bowed his head in my direction. "I sincerely apologize, Alpha Jackson. My daughter did not intend to fall asleep during your address; please forgive her." I nodded in acknowledgment and glanced at Sebastian, who understood that this marked the end for his child. As I turned to leave, Dimitri growled, "Take her, our mate." I looked back at her on the floor, realizing that we were the only ones astonished by her ability to fall asleep so abruptly.
"Is she your daughter?" I inquired. "Yes, she is," he replied, his face betraying no emotion. "I regret to inform you that she will be coming with me." His eyes widened in surprise. "May I ask why? I have already offered my apology." In that moment, I could see the fear etched on his face. "I will never harm her, for she is my 'mate.'" Everyone fell silent, and Aaron approached my side as if he had misheard me. "What?"
