Tianxuan Sect
On Tianxuan Mountain, clouds and mist swirl around, creating an ethereal and otherworldly atmosphere. The distant mountains appear like a traditional Chinese ink painting, while a nearby clear stream flows gently, its sound reminiscent of celestial music.
The most renowned sect among the celestial clans, Tianxuan Sect, is situated here. The entrance to the sect is an ancient wooden gate, marked by the passage of time. Above it hangs a bronze plaque inscribed with the characters "Tianxuan Sect." Inside the gate, a path paved with green stone slabs winds its way through, flanked by various mystical herbs and flowers emitting a refreshing fragrance.
Continuing further in, one can see elegantly arranged pavilions and halls with ancient and graceful architectural styles. The eaves are carved with dragons and phoenixes, exuding an aura of celestial majesty. Each building is nestled among bamboo, pine, and cypress, blending harmoniously with nature. Among them, the Pure Heart Pavilion, designated for disciples to meditate and cultivate their minds, is located in a plum grove.
Two disciples were talking in the plum grove outside the Pure Heart Pavilion.
"The morning class is about to start, why hasn't Senior Brother Qiyang arrived yet?"
"Yes, Senior Brother Qiyang, being Master Zhu's favorite disciple, never misses the morning class."
"Could he be oversleeping?"
"No way, I passed by his room last night when I went to the bathhouse, and his light was already off. He went to bed early."
"Ah-hem—"
A light cough suddenly sounded from behind them. They turned quickly and saw two elders approaching. They immediately bowed and greeted, "Uncle Master Shen, Uncle Master Zhu."
Shen Lun and Zhu Kangzhi were both senior elders of the Tianxuan Sect. The current leader of the sect was a female cultivator named Shuyin, Shen Lun's junior sister and Zhu Kangzhi's senior sister. The three of them were disciples of the previous grandmaster of the sect. They also had a much younger junior brother, Xi Yun, who was quite mischievous and was currently traveling outside.
Zhu Kangzhi, with sharp, eagle-like eyes and prominent cheekbones, had a stern-looking face. Despite his strict appearance, he focused solely on teaching his disciples on Qingmu Peak, making him not particularly feared by them. Shen Lun, on the other hand, despite his gentle elderly appearance, was the enforcer elder of the Discipline Hall, known for his harsh punishments, making the disciples very afraid of him.
Seeing Shen Lun, the two disciples immediately fell silent, fearing to say anything wrong that might send them to the Discipline Hall. Shen Lun asked, "What were you two discussing?"
The disciples thought Uncle Master Shen was reprimanding them for chatting and fell silent, not daring to speak. Zhu Kangzhi asked, "What's the matter with Qiyang?" One disciple replied, thinking Zhu Kangzhi was concerned about his disciple, "Senior Brother Qi usually arrives on time for class, but today he is late. We were wondering if he overslept and whether we should go wake him."
Hearing this, Zhu Kangzhi frowned. Qi Yang, whom he had picked up as a stray child, treated him like a father and never missed a class. Being this late must mean something had happened. He immediately said to Shen Lun, "Please take over the morning class today, senior brother. I need to check on my disciple."
Shen Lun nodded, "Go ahead." Zhu Kangzhi then flew towards Qingmu Peak on his sword. Arriving at the disciples' residence in the pine grove, he found Qi Yang's room empty, the bed neatly made, with no sign of anyone having slept there or left in the morning.
With a slight frown, he cast a spell, releasing several Moon Shadow Spirit Butterflies skilled in tracking to find Qi Yang, then sat by a stone table in the pine grove to wait. After a quarter of an hour, the butterflies returned, signaling they had found no trace of Qi Yang. Feeling uneasy, Zhu Kangzhi, considering Qi Yang his most beloved disciple, decided to seek the sect leader, Shuyin, at Yuxu Peak.
Arriving at Yuxu Peak, he landed on the martial arts field and was heading towards Shuyin's Linglong Pavilion when he encountered a radiant young man. The young man, dressed in blue gauze, with half his hair tied up in a topknot adorned with a white jade and silver crown, had a refined and handsome face, making him the most distinguished among Tianxuan Sect's disciples.
Seeing Zhu Kangzhi, the young man saluted, "Master Uncle."
Zhu Kangzhi greeted him, "Is it Xun Yu? Is your master in Linglong Pavilion now?" Xun Yu, courtesy name Wenxi, was the sect leader Shuyin's most talented disciple, a rare genius in the sect. Despite being only a grandnephew disciple, Zhu Kangzhi was very fond of him.
Xun Yu replied, "Yes, Master has been meditating since this morning. She should be finished by now. Please follow me, I'll take you there."
Zhu Kangzhi followed Xun Yu towards Linglong Pavilion. Noticing Zhu Kangzhi's worried expression, Xun Yu asked, "What is troubling you, Master Uncle?"
Zhu Kangzhi replied, " Your junior brother Qiyang is missing. I fear he has disappeared. "
Xun Yu was surprised, "Have you sent spirit butterflies to search?"
Zhu Kangzhi nodded, "I have, but they found nothing. That's why I'm here to see your master. "
Xun Yu's expression turned serious. If the spirit butterflies found nothing, it must be something serious, possibly involving demons or devils.
