A WONDERFUL DAY. EVERYTHING WAS OK. Everyone was happy. The chickens were packed as the ladies who came from various locations had arrived. Children were screaming. Everyone was happy with their daily activities, trying to make the day beautiful. It was Salmah's birthday. The whole family was happy celebrating her 6-year-birthday. We drank a lot of ice cream and ate cake, the most amazing thing that made them so excited.. Playing, singing and dancing. I was about 11. At that time, uncle Haruna was around to complete the day as they all loved him. Whenever he visits us, they always bring some candy along with a good gift when he drops by the house. He's not like uncles as they always want them to work hard in their deals with them. There was a time they went out and excused there. A friend of their uncle punished them and hung them onto a moving fan, but they were so scared that the kids could not inform their parents for some reason. Maybe it is because they want us to be better in life or for their selfish reasons that we all hate them. Abdulkadir grew up in a polygamous house. My dad got married to two wives, Hajara the first and Zainab the second, who was my mother, as they were 11 in number, then he was the third of them. She was the first born of his mother and she had four children, as he was the only boy,, all of them were ladies, while the first wife. He had 7 seven children. They had an amazing childhood growing up. She lived happily but had a very large house. Not only did the children live, but so also with uncles. His dad was the only person in his family to first make it out of his family, from being brought to the big city Abuja. He came from a poor family. When he had to struggle to make it in life. When he was little he had to go and help his dad and. He, so they could eat food in the family he was one of his kind as his biological mother died of child birth bringing him had caused her life but he wasn’t alone as he was raised by his step mother Fatima mai kosai she sell akara in the road side , she always bring him closed to her just like she raised him as her own son gave him her loved . He had love from his dad as he was always working hard, just so his dad could be happy with him, but still it wasn’t enough. He gave the best he could do, but it wasn’t enough. He had to struggle through school and didn’t want him to go out and study. He always complained that they had no money to support him. Rather, he only had money to feed the family. But the young father didn’t want to accept his faith whenever he went to his dad's farm to help. He sneaked out and had himself registered to primary school in his village with the money. He had been giving him every day to help her out selling akara, but the young father had an agenda to take himself to study, not knowing he was building the founding blocks of his life. He was successfully doing so for a long period of time till, when he reached ss2, his dad knew what the young man was doing by taking himself to school. The dad summoned a family meeting with his siblings and told everyone that his son was selfish enough to have money, but. He left them hungry, his dad blamed him and the young man was angry. Many thoughts were going through his mind as he always cried and hated himself and the whole family. His step-stepmother, Fatima, called upon him Fatima” My son, why are you crying? Umar’ ’daddy told me not to go back to school Fatima’ ’come let me tell you something As he came closer to her, she comforted him and hugged him close as she whispered to him. Fatima’’my son. I am proud of you for actually standing up to be the man I raised you to be a man. If your mother were here with us she would be proud. You also don’t forget you are like your dad. He struggles a lot to provide a roof over his head and feed about (30) lives everyday. umar’’I know but he did not support me when I brought up the idea, so I went and did it for myself. He didn’t have to insult me like that in front of everyone. fatima’’don’t you ever say you dad is insult you again you no you dad doesn’t support education because he sees no point in paper bringing in food to the table umar’’did he as me how I suffer to pay for my tuition fees or has he ever told me to slow down on the farm because I spent a lot of time. He doesn't know how I do it, the work I had to put in fatima’’he doesn't know because you never show him umar’’ walahi. I did show him my interest but he shunned me away Fatima’’lalai he did that to you umar’’yes he did fatima’’why did you still go when he told you not to? Umar ‘’is because my friends were playing a spelling game. I asked them to join them. They refused me and told them I could only do so if I was educated. That made me feel bad. I knew Baba didn't have money, so I started saving so I could fund myself to school. Fatima’’, I am proud of you, my son for taking this up on your shoulders and am proud of you . Don’t worry if life challenges you, either you fight it or you run from it but one thing is for sure, no matter how far run eventually it will catch up to you. As Fatima tried to consul him and make him understand at times in life if you don’t stand up for you values no one will and life can bring all sort of things but you just have to be positive and being open minded and ready to accept the situation as if is not to blame anyone for you wrongs and always keep in mind that no matter what it just a face in life nothing is constant the you are brought to life you start changing till the they you actually perish just like how the world revolves around every day we have day months and year (time) life goes on a just keep in mind that no conditions is permanent but at times we actually need people to talk to us communicate because we can also be the destructions of our self, a saying don’t blame anyone if things are not going well for you just simply blame yourself and if good things are coming to your sit still yourself , don’t keep yourself idol as you see umar did not leave himself like that he actually woke up to new possibility he knows that his dad is poor and only a farmer his friends made fun of him because he wasn’t up to their life stander but he knew he could work hard to measure up and even if he try he could be more than them as he was not challenging himself but challenging the nature of his life that he could be inspire and be of inspiration to other.
