“What exactly did Mia tell you?” I asked Sammy out of curiosity. The fact that she went against her best friend her support Mia meant she knew something more than she was letting on. My sister was a good judge of character, this much I knew.
She literally cursed herself when the Nora episode unfolded. Just like, she cursed herself when she first realized Stefan’s addiction issues. Sammy was always too hard on herself.
“Everything. Whatever happened that day when we went out. Especially after we left.” She answered rather vaguely, fidgeting with the paperweight on my table.
“And you believed her?” I wanted to know what Sammy and Dominic thought of Mia.
Sammy stopped fidgeting and looked up. “The better question would be, do you believe her?”
I shrugged and feigned indifference.
