I could see the staff running in one direction. I was about to follow them when Haneul stopped me.
“What’s wrong?” I asked while looking at her.
“We can’t follow them, Elle,” She said and looked around. “If they see you they’ll attack before chasing the progenitor and Izamu,”
“Right,” I whispered. “Let’s go there,” I said and pointed towards the door that Zynrick blew up.
We arrived there and took the passed out people’s uniform. “I hope this would be enough to disguise us,” I said as I look at myself.
“This is disgusting,” I heard Haneul say. I looked at her and I could see the evident disgust in her face.
“Helping Zyn and Al is our top priority. You have to bear with the clothes,” I said and she nodded but the irritation in her face didn’t fade.
“I know that,” She said and we proceeded to join the crowd that was chasing after Zyn and Al.
“This magic,” Haneul said beside me.
Haneul and I were standing in the middle of the crowd when Zynrick suddenly decides to release ice spears in every direction. He then released a strong gust of wind that sent people flying.
“Zynrick!” I called out and ran towards him.
I saw the relief in his eyes when he saw me. “Thank goodness,” He whispered.
“Zyn, create a barrier,” I said when it started to rain arrows.
I could remember teaching him how to create a barrier. I just hope he remembers how to. He was able to successfully create a barrier and that protected us from the arrows and the people around us but I saw how exhausted he was when suddenly knelt on the ground.
I want to ask what happened while I was away. How long was I away from them for Zynrick to be this exhausted?
“Stand up,” I said while looking at Zynrick.
“Al, are you alright?” I asked and turned to see Al’s pitiful state.
“I’m dying,” He answered. I felt my heart skip a beat at what I heard.
“Elle, wipe everyone out and call out Al’s name,” Haneul said beside me.
It must be hard for her to see Al’s state right now but I remember what she said earlier, “You told me that I shouldn’t kill anyone,” I said but she looked like she was letting her emotions take over her.
“Use me, it’s to protect you and everyone else,” She said but I won’t allow that.
“I won’t-“ I said but I was cut off.
“Elle, it’s a matter of life or death. People are attacking the barrier! This is a life or death situation!” She yelled.
“You don’t have to do that if you don’t want to. I know we’re not okay at the moment but please let me drink your blood,” He said while looking at me.
I clenched my jaw and nodded. I walked up to him and showed him my neck. His eyes went red and he was sucking my neck really hard. I clenched his shirt and when he let go, he smiles at me.
“I, the successor of the greatest progenitor, Avalon, call out my familiar. Kailash, come!” He yelled and strong lighting came through the roof of the facility.
I looked around and most of the people were gone. They were thrown away and some of them were even dead. I looked at Zynrick and there was no remorse of pity in his eyes.
“Zynrick, what are you doing?” I asked when he started to move towards the other’s who were begging him to let them go.
“Kailash,” He called out instead of answering me. A cat sith appeared beside him and he commanded, “Kill everyone,”
My eyes went wide at his command, “Zynrick, you can’t be serious,” I said but he didn’t answer.
We watched as his familiar kill everyone in the area. I wanted to stop him but I can’t use my magic and it seems that talking to him won’t do anything.
“Are you happy?” I asked when the cat stopped.
“No, I’m not satisfied unless I kill Tyrone,” He said which made me slap him.
“Zynrick, what the hell has gotten into you?” I asked while heaving in anger.
“You’ve been to war, haven’t you?! I’m sure you’ve killed more people than I have so stop acting like a mighty person who’s never sinned! I’m doing this because we’re in a life or death situation! Can’t you understand that?!” He yelled.
“Stop arguing,” Al said which made us turn to him.
“What did Tyrone mean when he said that I’m not Al?” He asked while looking straight at me. “I’m dying, I want to know,” He said.
I gulped and looked Haneul, “You should call out his name,” She said and I nodded.
“Izamu, I release you from the shackles that bind your memories. I, your master from your former life have come to release your soul from ignorance, come, Izamu Takahashi,” I said.
Al started screaming in pain. I closed my eyes because I didn’t want to see him in pain. But his screams of pain were still entering my ears.
“Elle, what’s happening? What did you do?” Zynrick asked while shaking me.
I closed my eyes tightly and tried to ignore Al’s screams but I just can’t.
“Elle, open your eyes, Izamu has the right to have you see him return to you,” She said so I opened my eyes and watched Al scream in pain.
“Now, call out his name,” Haneul said and I nodded.
“Izamu, come, serve your master,” I said and he turned into a dagger.
I felt the pain he was feeling when he was in my hands. I feel like my head was about to burst and the emotions he was feeling were too scattered to even know how he felt. I could feel tears streaming down my face when he started to cry.
I can bear this. He’s done harder things for me compared to what I’m going through now.
“It’s alright, Izamu, you can cry as much as you want,” I said when he was suppressing his emotions.
“You’re back with us, don’t worry, I won’t let you die again,” I said and let him cry while he was in my hands.
