Chapter 1
The Academy is a school for the elite. Students here are full of entitled rich kids who're trained to become ruthless criminals. Other than us rich kids, the other students here are those that are orphaned. They are trained to become our minions in the future.
My mother, Regina, was one of the top students in her batch. She was the deadliest person produced by the Academy, and no one in history ever topped her. That is until she entered me into the Academy.
From the age of six years old, children are taken out of their typical daycares and thrown into the Academy to study and follow into their parents' footsteps. Normally, a day in our lives are divided into three—academics, military training, and skills.
My personal favorite are skills. Skills range from Acting classes, classes such as The Art of Manipulation, Dance, and many many more.
After graduating from high school, we are then pushed into our college. Yes, there's absolutely no escape. College here is just like any other college and university. The only difference is that once you're in college, you have the license to kill. You are placed on missions and so on.
My name is Diana Regina Wu, daughter of Regina Juliet Wu. While most families here run an empire that runs on drugs, our family business is much more different. We own an organization that specializes in assassinations and other dirty work. All the other families here are our clients, and they dare not to cross us.
I have two younger sisters, and a brother. My sister and rival is Serafina Hailey who's currently thirteen years old; then there's my brother Zach Neo who's nine years old; and the youngest at six who's entering today is Zaylee Terra. Everybody in school either fears us or adore us.
I put on our red and black uniform that consists of a white button up, red mini skirt and matching bow tie, and black suit-jacket. Brushing my long black hair, I let it loose on my back and topping it off with a pearl headband.
Unlike the other students, my family has their own wing in the school. We are part owner of the school which is why I and my siblings live here. The only other people who live here are the orphans that stay in the dorms and some of the teachers.
Knocking on my sisters' and brother's doors, I called, "I'm going first, guys."
Their doors flung open, revealing them in their uniforms. "We're ready," they all say, taking their bags.
Serafina has gained weight over the years. She had a chubby figure and the uniform made her look stuffy. She is about as tall as me standing at five-two. She possessed dark brown hair that was cut into a bob, and brown hazy eyes.
Zach had thick black hair, almond-shaped brown eyes, and an average physique. He looked the most like my mother.
Then there's little Zaylee who looked exactly like me. The way she styled and carried herself is quite identical to me. The only differences we have is that she possessed both brown hair and eyes.
"I don't want to go," said the youngest, clutching onto her skirt.
I bent over, patting her shoulders. "Zaylee," I say, reassuring her, "There's nothing to be afraid of, really. No one will ever bully you here. They cower in fear just by seeing us."
"It's not that," she says, clutching her skirts further. "I don't want to become a killer."
I stood up, letting her go. There's no point of sugarcoating everything for her. She clearly knows her fate. "Zaylee," I say, "Sorry, but this is what we're raised for. Don't worry. The academy life is fun."
"Have you killed anyone yet?" she asked.
The trio looked at me with curious eyes.
I grabbed the pistol from my bag, raising it up in the air. "No," I say, "But I will soon enough."
"And that doesn't scare you?" Serafina arched a brow, gesturing me to put it back in the bag. "Seriously, Diana. Put it back. There's no need to scare Zaylee on the first day of school."
I snickered, putting the pistol back in. "Sera, dear," I say, "Zaylee is a girl like me. She isn't a scared cat like you were from when you first arrived." I sighed, stretching my arms. "It's the first day of the school year, kiddos. Let's go."
They followed me into the hallway that lead us into the school area. As we walked, the crowds parted like the red sea.
"Wow," Zaylee says in awe.
"Get used to it," Zach whispers, "Wherever Diana goes, people are sure to run away."
I simply rolled my eyes, escorting them to their assigned classes. The last one was Zaylee who was shaking like a tiny hamster.
"Ms. Wu," my former teacher, Ms. Pia greets, "It's great to see you. Is she the last one?"
I nodded, urging Zaylee to get to know her. "Good morning, Ms. Pia. This is Zaylee, my youngest sister. She's the last one, alright. I must warn you that she's very much like me as a child."
"Then she'll do wonders then," she says, bending over to greet my sister. "Hi, Zaylee. I'm teacher Pia. I was the homeroom of your older siblings."
Zaylee merely waved her hand.
I sighed. She must be terrified as I was. She'll get over it soon enough. "I'm off, Zaylee, Ms. Pia. Please take good care of her for me." With that, I left to go to find my new classroom.
My section's name is Scarlet. It's the top section where all the smart ones are put in. Entering, everyone bowed lightly in respect. I sat at the center of the class, waiting for it to start. My friends aren't here yet either, so I opened up a book about the art of deception.
A whistle blew soon after, grabbing my attention.
I looked up to meet a man with golden blonde hair and a set of hazel and green eyes. His features were that of a god, and his smile made all the ladies' jaw drop. I glanced a him and switched my attention back to my book.
He sat next to me, refusing to back off.
"That seat's taken," I say, not even giving him a glimpse of my face.
He chuckled, stealing the book from my clutches. He earned a handful of gasps from the students around us.
"s**t," one of them says, putting a hand over her mouth.
I rolled my eyes, shifting my body to face him. "f**k off, will you? I've better things to do than deal with your shit."
His smirk grew higher, shaking his head. "Something tells me you're the alpha's female around him."
I launched at his remark, taking back my textbook. "Honey."
"Honey?" he says in amusement.
"What makes you think there's an alpha male around here?" I asked huskily.
"Isn't there in every school?" he says, his eyes trailing from my head down to my skirt.
I came closer—enough that he could feel my breath against his skin. "I am the alpha here," I whispered. Taking him by surprise, I punched him right where it hurts. I earned a grunt from him and an amused expression. "How's your friend, babe?"
He smiled, "Hurts like a bitch."
"Diana," growls my friend, Nick.
I turned to face him with a bright smile plastered on my face. "Hey, Nicky. I just met fresh blood. I like him."
He shook his head in disapproval. "Sorry, Man," he says, "This is Diana Wu. She is a real b***h as you can tell, and I strongly recommend that you stay out of her way."
"No no," I say, mocking him, "Please, go ahead. I do enjoy whatever it is that just happened."
"I'm Orion Soul," he introduced, extending his hand to Nick.
"Nicholas Asher," he accepted his hand. "You must be Aries' brother."
He nodded, asking, "Is he coming soon?"
"Diana, didn't you read the email that was sent to you?" Nick asked, scratching his head.
"No," I replied, putting my book down. "Why?"
"You might be getting married," he said.
I laughed almost hysterically at his statement. "Nick, seriously? You're so hilarious!" Nick really knows how to make me laugh. For as long as I can remember, he's been trying to get with me. He's been praying for the day our parents arrange us to marry.
He merely shook his head in disbelief.
"Okay then," I say, wiping my tears of laughter. "When are we getting married?"
"Not me," he says exhastedly.
"Fine," I said, "to whom am I getting married to?"
"To me," said a voice from behind.
I turned around to be greeted by a tall man with bright blew eyes, dusty brown hair, and a godlike pysique. He surely is a treat.
I looked at Nick who wasn't cracking at all. "Nick, you got me, okay? This has been completely amusing. I'm impressed."
Still, he wasn't budging at all.
I glanced back at the tall stranger before me. He too wasn't budging. He had a blank expression spread about his face; completely unreadable.
"What the f**k?"
