Don't Leave Me

The supposed hours it was to take to get to the Crescent Moon felt like days without the setting of the sun. The hooves of the centaurs with them thundered in her ears, making it hard to hear anything around them. They had only stopped once and Ayla was grateful that they brought waterskins and food.  She had offered to share her fish, but apparently most centaurs don’t eat any kind of meat. ‘I hear something.’ A centaur said from their side, looking at Drak first before glancing her way as well, ‘Sounds like fighting.’ They were currently in a thick patch of woods and as they kept going, Ayla could finally pick up what they were talking about, “I should get off here.” ‘You expect us to leave you to the fighting?’ Drak grunted as he slowed to a trot before stopping, ‘I cannot do that.’
