After a few hours of traveling, Ayla realized she made a big mistake by not grabbing any rations or even a waterskin. While drinking water from a stream or river wasn’t ideal, she could do that, but food might be harder to find.
By now, she was sure her father and the rest of the staff knew she was gone considering she was not able to close the window after falling. She only hoped they realized it was her escaping and not kidn*pped, though she would not be surprised if they jump to that conclusion.
Tama came to a skidding halt, bringing Ayla out of her thoughts, ‘We’ve caught up to the soldiers, but they’ve come to a stop…’
Looking around, Ayla hadn’t realized they got that close to her father’s army. They were within a sparse forest that led to a large field of rolling green hills.
