.... ROSE POV This is my first dinner out since the last two weeks I'd been working with the GLOBAL TECH and now sir Adrian wants paint me again. Nah! I'm a lot smarter now, boss. It's not dinner again since it's 2 PM but lunch. When dealing with Adrian, though he is witty so you have to be cunny. The clients are from Asia probably Taiwanese, so-- I got an idea! "A Chinese restaurant? How beneath me!". He bored at me as I sat beside him in the car. "Yes, Bistro Bliss restaurant only offer Italian dishes". "So--?". "It's selfish..". I replied curtly. His eyes popped, "How?". I exhaled, "You want something from them so got to treat them right. Remember the way to a man's heart is through his stomach ". It was the next available restaurant I can make reservation for ASAP... I don't do Chinese either! "So?". I replied, "So we have to treat them right with homemade meal, we'll capture their heart". He was amused, "Have you told them about it?". I grinned widely, ''Of course! And they will be there sooner". .... ADRIAN POV After the deal had been sealed, I ordered for the resturants Meal Menu, which was boldly written on the cover, 'cān yǐn zhāo' I could see the warm smiles on my Chinese clients faces as they choose their dishes. I watched Rose scan the menu, her eyes widening in shock at the prices. I chuckled to myself, knowing she was in for a culinary adventure. When she hesitated, I swooped in, a mischievous smile spreading across my face. "Come on, Rose. Be adventurous. Try the Chinese dishes. It'll be good for you to experience the culture." I gestured to our Chinese clients, who were watching with interest. "Besides, our guests would be honored if you joined them in a traditional Chinese meal." I could see the hesitation in her eyes, but I knew she wouldn't resist my persuasive tone. She nodded, and I beamed with satisfaction. As we ordered, I caught her eye, my smile growing wider. "I'll have the spaghetti Bolognese, please," I told the waiter, just to see her reaction. Her eyebrow shot up , and I could sense her surprise. "You're not having Chinese food?" she asked, a hint of amusement in her voice. I winked at her. "Oh, I've had my fill of Chinese food for the day. Besides, I want to see you try new things." I leaned back in my chair, eager to watch her navigate the unfamiliar flavors and textures. As the meal began, I took great pleasure in watching her try each dish, her hesitant bites and uncertain expressions entertaining me. The Chinese clients were gracious and encouraging, helping her understand the different flavors and customs. By the end of the meal, Rose looked relieved but also proud of herself for trying something new. I patted her on the back, my smile still lingering. "Well done, Rose. You're a natural." I thought to myself, this is going to be an interesting trip. ROSE POV As I took my first bite of the steamed dumpling, I was hit with a wave of flavors I'd never experienced before. The delicate wrapping melted in my mouth, releasing a savory broth that was both sweet and umami. I chewed hesitantly, unsure of what to make of it. But as I continued to eat, I began to appreciate the complexity of the dish. The textures, the flavors, the way each bite was a surprise. I felt like a hero, conquering this unfamiliar culinary territory. But just as I was patting myself on the back, my stomach began to churn. The heat and spices, which had been tantalizing just moments before, now felt like a rebellion in my belly. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to discreetly press my legs together. Oh no, I thought, I think I'm in trouble. The room began to spin, and I felt a wave of sweat wash over me. I needed to find a bathroom, fast. I excused myself, trying to play it cool despite my growing panic. "Excuse me, I just need to...ah...powder my nose." Sir Adrian raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. I could sense his amusement, and it only added to my distress. I made a beeline for the restroom, my heart racing with every step. I burst through the door, relieved to find it empty. As I locked myself in a stall, I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. Who becomes a hero for trying new food, only to be defeated by their own digestive system? Me, that's who. As I was defecating, I was feeling relieved. I should have ordered spaghetti Bolognese alongside with Sir Adrian. I'll surely write this down when I get home,,, 'Not every new things are meant to be tried'. ....
