KIARA'S POV
I was still shaken.Even after leaving the witch doctor's room, my hands wouldn't stop trembling.I had heard them.
My babies had spoken to me.Not with words. Not with sounds. But inside my mind. And somehow, the witch doctor had heard them too.
Everything was happening too fast.Too many visions.Too many mysteries.Too many secrets.
And right now, there was only one person besides Kael I wanted to talk to.
Chloe.
I found her arranging flowers in the living room. The moment she saw me, concern appeared in her eyes.
"Kiara?"
She immediately walked over.
"Hey, what happened?"
I wrapped my arms around her.
"I'm scared."
Her face softened.
"Talk to me."
She guided me to the couch.
"What happened?"
Taking a deep breath, I told her everything.About the witch doctor's examination.About how it had already been four months.About how the babies were growing much faster than they should.About how the witch doctor believed I might give birth soon.
Chloe's eyes widened.
"So soon?"
I nodded.
"I know."
"I'm terrified."
She squeezed my hand comfortingly.
"But that wasn't even the strangest part."
Her expression became serious.
"What else happened?"
I swallowed hard.
"The witch doctor suddenly froze."
"She kept staring at my stomach,She said the babies knew."
Chloe frowned.
"Knew what?"
"Everything…The conversation."
Her face changed slightly.
"What?"
I nodded.
"She said they could hear us."
"And then…"
My voice trembled.
"I heard them."
Silence..,Complete silence.
Chloe stared at me.
"Heard who?"
"The twins."
Her eyes widened.
"They spoke to me."
I laughed nervously.I know it sounds crazy But I heard them."
"T-They talked?"
"They told me not to cry."
Tears filled my eyes.
"They said Daddy would protect us."
Chloe became unusually quiet.
Too quiet.
I thought maybe she didn't believe me.
"I know how insane it sounds”
"No."
She interrupted softly.
"I believe you."
I blinked.
"You do?"
She smiled.
"Of course."
"You've been through too much to lie about something like that."
Tears filled my eyes again.
"I don't know what's happening anymore."
She pulled me into a hug.
"It's okay We’ll figure it out I promise.”
I buried my face in her shoulder.
"I'm scared."
"I know."
"What if the coven comes?"
"They won't touch you."
"What if they hurt the babies?"
"They won't."
"What if—"
"Kiara."
She gently held my face.
"Look at me."
I did.
"You are not alone, you have Kael and you have me and you have two very stubborn babies."
Despite everything, I laughed.
She smiled.
"See?"
"You'll be fine."
I smiled weakly.
"Thank you."
"Always."
I hugged her one last time.
"I don't know what I'd do without you."
Something flickered in Chloe's eyes.
Sadness.
Regret.
Pain.
But it disappeared so quickly that I thought I'd imagined it.
She smiled.
"You'll never have to find out."
I smiled back.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Still smiling, I stood up and left the room.
I didn't notice the smile slowly disappear from Chloe's face after I was gone.Didn't notice her eyes becoming distant Or the tears gathering inside them.
She closed her eyes.
"You're making this harder, Kiara."
Her voice broke.
"So much harder."
Slowly, she looked toward the window.
Toward the forest beyond the sanctuary.
Toward the place no one knew she had secretly visited.
And for the first time in years...
Fear crossed Chloe's face.
Because she knew something that no one else did.
The twins awakening…
Was much sooner than expected.
And if they were already speaking to Kiara...
Then it wouldn't be long before
They remembered.
Chloe's eyes widened.
"No…"
She stood up abruptly.
"No, no, no."
Not yet.
Please.
Not yet.
Because if the twins remembered who they truly were…
Then the war Kiara had seen in her visions…
Would only be the beginning.
