Sierra Vance has a very deadly secret: she's not a pathetic little submissive omega at the bottom of the ranks at all. No, she's half-vampire hybrid on a mission for the Shadow Wolf Clan, living among the Eclipse Pack and watching everything. But if her real bloodline is revealed to them, she will be put to death immediately.

With less than weeks before she can pay off her way and get her freedom, all that breaks down when the brutal,hybrid-hating, and newly arrive Supreme Alpha Kaelen Blackwood lands with his imposing command to take charge.

Much to her dread, at his welcome ceremony, the unprecedented happens – the mythical mate-bond shrieks to existence between the pair. And Kaelen absolutely hates that fate handed him this… useless, fragile wolf. Fearful that her close proximity to him may soon give her secrets away, Sierra decides to do the ultimate unthinkable-reject the most powerful Alpha on territory. However, toxic possession of power runs way too deep with Kaelen to ignore her attempt to walk out.

To coerce her into obedience, he keeps her under lock and key at his estate to force her into the submission she seems too eager to give.

With Sierra desperately struggling to conceal the inhuman quirks of her nature with the rise of the sun, Kaelen starts unraveling her defenses in all the wrong ways, his rage mistakenly viewing her dread as a betrayal. Could a connection forged with a deadly secret ever flourish, or will exposure destroy the entire pack?

Apex and the Outcast
The Eclipse Pack's silver cage had always felt smallest at midnight. It was especially tiny on the night the scent of her own impending execution wafted in the air. Sierra cinched the drab wool of her jacket tighter around her shivering frame, her gaze fixed firmly on the frozen dirt path beneath her worn boots. Scattered all around her, lowly ranked omegas scurried about like terrified field mice, setting up iron lanterns and sturdy oak tables for the evening’s arrival ceremony. The air itself was heavy, choked with the rich aroma of roasted meat, pine needles, and the thick, dominant presence of purebred wolves. To everyone else, Sierra was just the broken twenty-year-old laundry servant, the girl who scrubbed the warriors' bloodied uniforms until her fingers bled, the girl who kept her head down, the girl who never growled back. They thought she was a defect because she had no wolf spirit within her to shift into. Fools. They didn't know the way her heart throbbed at a predatory rhythm no natural wolf could ever track. They didn't know the flawless pale ivory skin beneath the collar of her shirt concealed a forbidden heritage that would have her burned at the stake if any of them ever found out. Half-vampire. A hybrid. A monster disguised as a stray. For ten miserable years, Sierra swallowed a gag-worthy blend of herbs each morning to mask the sweet metallic scent of her blood and force her pack into smelling nothing more than the weak scent of a submissive omega. Two weeks, she repeated to herself, her fingers automatically tracing the small leather pouch stuffed deep within her boot-a pouch holding the proceeds from a month of careful pilfering-enough for a fake passport and a bus ticket far beyond these wolf territories. Just two more weeks, and you’re free. “Move your ass, you pathetic w***e!” A rough, heavy hand slammed into her back, sending her stumbling forward and hip-first onto the edge of a table. Sierra didn’t cry out; she only gritted her teeth, clenching her hands into fists and suppressing the urge to rip out her own gums with her vampire fangs. Slowly, she turned her head to look up at Beta Thomas, his face contorted into his usual smug, power-tripping scowl. “The Supreme Commander’s motorcade crossed the river line minutes ago,” he snarled, his breath smelling of rotten meat and dominance. “If even one lantern is unlit by the time his boots touch this ground, I will have you thrown in the silver-lined cells for a solid week. Understood, omega?” “Yes, Beta,” Sierra whispered, carefully pitching her voice to convey the perfect blend of meekness, allowing her shoulders to slump to complete the facade of an insignificant slave. Thomas grunted, clearly unimpressed, and turned to bark orders at his perimeter guards. The instant his back was turned, Sierra straightened her shoulders, a cold, dangerous fire burning in her violet-red eyes. She despised this pathetic act, but she loathed the thought of their silver chains even more. Grasping a heavy iron match, she went about lighting the torches along the main courtyard. Then, with a sudden, jarring lurch, the wind picked up dramatically. The murmuring of hundreds of pack members abruptly ceased. The festive air that had pervaded the grounds moments before evaporated, replaced by an oppressive, bone-chilling pressure that immediately dropped the courtyard temperature by ten degrees. Sierra’s breath caught in her throat, her usually dull senses now screaming at her in agony, her vampire half jolting awake from its nightly slumber. Three sleek, black, armoured jet cars cruised through the iron gates of the courtyard like giant, metal harbingers of death. They slid to a halt in chilling unison as the doors of the two lead vehicles flew open and six elite Blackwood warriors- monsters bred solely for slaughter-poured out, forming a deadly wall of honed steel. Finally, the rear door of the central car swung open. A thick, black, combat-reinforced boot descended onto the frozen dirt. When the occupant rose to his full height, an audible shudder ran through the entire Eclipse Pack. Alpha Kaelen Blackwood. At just twenty-six years old, his name had become the stuff of Northern continent nightmares. He was no mere Alpha, he was the Supreme Commander, the apex predator who’d ruthlessly eliminated rogue factions and exterminated entire vampire covens to cement his bloodstained reign. He was enormous, his broad, imposing shoulders filling out a tailored black military coat that could in no way disguise the coiled power beneath it. His dark hair was cropped short, and his jawline seemed to be carved from impenetrable granite. But his eyes, those burning, intense amber orbs, the eyes of a predator who viewed everything in the world as either prey or the enemy, sent a tremor of pure ice through Sierra’s hybrid blood. Kaelen offered no smile, no nod of recognition toward the bowed elders. His gaze swept over the assembly, his Alpha pheromones so potent they forced several younger omegas to their knees, trembling under the sheer force of his presence. Sierra kept her head down, eyes fixed on the ground, attempting to meld into the shadows beneath the wooden pillars. Kaelen took three deliberate steps toward the pack Alpha, but stopped abruptly halfway across the courtyard. He snapped his head to the side sharply. His nostrils flared; he took in a deep, greedy inhalation of the crisp night air. A searing, golden heat erupted in Sierra’s chest-not the cold dread of her vampire heritage, nor the dull ache of her suppressed wolf-but a fire that burned in her veins like liquid gold, pulling her gaze upward. Kaelen’s burning amber eyes met hers across the dead-silent courtyard. The Supreme Alpha’s eyes immediately dilated, turning nearly pitch-black, his gaze feeling like a physical hand around her throat. A low, rumbling growl vibrated deep within his massive chest, a sound that shook the very ground beneath her feet and vibrated the iron lanterns around them. Mate. The word hammered in her mind, not as a romantic fairy tale, but as a death sentence.
