MARIE I jolted awake out of a dead sleep pouring sweat. I felt around frantically for Amaris. “Shhh… you’re ok. It’s just now dawn. Relax, ok? We’re safe.” She whispered to me, grabbing my hand. It’s like she knew exactly what was running through my head; then again, maybe she did. She’d been through this twice before. “I’m sorry, I think I was having a bad dream.” I shuddered, before laying back on the cool cave floor. “Is Valerian still sleeping?” I whispered, trying to peer around her shoulder. ”He shifted and went out about an hour ago, I’m sure he’s hunting.
