“You've what?” Ross shouted when Dodds gave him the unwanted information that they'd lost sight of Adamson.
“Sorry Boss, the sly bastard slowed down as we approached a set of traffic lights as they turned amber, and then as they turned red, he put his foot down and slipped through. There were two cars ahead of us and we couldn't overtake them because of opposing traffic and by the time we got through he'd disappeared. We tried various turnings he could have taken, but he'd gone.”
Ross's anger quickly dissipated. He knew his team couldn't have put the public at risk by crossing into the oncoming traffic in a built-up area, and after all, he knew they were dealing with a very clever and devious criminal mind.
